It's now official Charlie Sheen was fired from 2 1/2 Men and will most likely be replaced, by who, no one knows. Of course his reaction was as to be expected calling his former bosses "yellow cockaroaches" for not informing him personally and also commenting that if he were replaced, people would likely tune into the show one time only, which of course means he feels he's irreplaceable.
Why he didn't see this coming is beyond comprehension, did he really think that by appearing on almost every interview program possible making outrageous comments and slamming his former employers every chance he got would somehow bolster his chances of being re- hired? in my opinion he dug his own grave and wrote his own pink slip and so, i guess he will just have to depend on his 2 million Twitter friends for his income.
Sorry Charlie, you have no one to blame but yourself.

definitely, he was sacked because of his behaviour. there's no one who is indispensable. there is always a better person or better choice.

I hear the producers are talking about replacing him and the ones that were mentioned are John Stamos,Rob Lowe and Robert Downey Jr.i think any one of the three would be a good choice as they are all experienced actors with some comedy background.Right now they're just talking about it, so, i don't know if this will actually happen any time soon, but, as you mentioned, no one is indispensable, even if Charlie Sheen thinks he is.

both rob lowe and robert downey jr are good replacements... am not too familiar with john stamos. charlie sheen if am not mistaken acted in st. elmo's fire together with rob lowe and demi moore? am not too sure.

Actually Charlie Sheens brother,Emilio Estevez was in St Elmo's Fire.
As for John Stamo's i'm not that familiar with him either, although i do know who he is.i know he starred in a comedy series called Full House many years ago, but i never watched this program, so don't know too much about it.

I believe that he will get some money from the Warner for this. And I hope that he has saved a little money to not depend on his twitter friends : he was earning more with 3 21" episodes -- payed 1,25 million dollar each -- than a middle class in a life. His grave is a golden grave.

I do not follow you on this point : I do not think that there is any shame here, except maybe the shame to don't save anything when you are paid more than 3.5 millions per hour.
Warner wants to get rid of the most expensive TV actor of all times, but this actor has not been charged with anything -- to be arrogant is not a crime --. Warner has nothing against him, and is playing an air of calumny that will cost at the end millions dollars to the company.

But with so many issues gong on in his life more then likely if he does not shape up he will certainly go down the horrid expected path.

topffer:According to him, he hasn't saved anything and makes it sound as if the producers have put him in the poor house by letting him go. i agree, Warner's probably will have to pay him something, but i don't know for sure just how much.
"A golden grave"?, yes, but a grave nonetheless, what a shame.

I'm not surprised he was fired, as his behavior couldn't be ignored by CBS. I hope the other networks don't offer him a job. There has been some talk that this will be the last season and my hope is somebody else is hired to join the cast.
Its bad to see somebody act like this and he certainly has been on the television so much acting completely out of control. I sure hope he gets some help soon.

I can name many people from television shows that should have received help. Its sad to have friends that keep saying he or she is fine when clearly they has been in trouble for a long time.

My reaction was they are free! CBS has learned that it is better to hire a good actor who can play the bad boy instead of getting a bad boy who is a good actor! Charlie is free. Now sober or not , he is free to be himself! I think he maybe right. If CBS hires the wrong guy to replace him, the show will suffer. That first show back Better be just the beginning or the show is down for.

i guess that's why they're not saying when the show will be back on the air, since they first have to find someone really talented to replace him, but i do feel it's the only fair thing to do since his castmates deserve keeping their jobs and not be punished for Charlie's behavior. but, i also think it's kind of arrogant for him to say the show will "definitely" fail without him, even if it might.

I think it will be difficult replacing him but, on the other hand if they don't they'll be throwing away a fortune, since the show was the highest rated show on tv, although people say Charlie Sheen was the reason for it, it's worth a shot to see if someone else may be able to do just as well, plus the other cast members will be able to keep their jobs, which is the only reason i would like to see the show go on, since it's just not fair for them to lose their jobs due to Sheens behavior.

I too hate to think that the other talented actors are going to have to find something else because of Sheen's behavior. I still watch reruns but have not really had time to watch the new episodes because it is right at my daughters bedtime routine. not worth a bad night just to watch a bit of tv.

I myself like Charlie Sheen and I believe its his personal persona that makes Two and A Half Men a good show yeah he's a git but I like him for it so many people have friends who others will not like and think there arrogant so one persons view on another is usually quite varied. Charlie Sheen has plenty of money and I do believe that Two and A Half Men if it continues to run will ultimately fail unless they find another Charlie Sheen but surely there would be no point in that if they couldn't handle the first one . The man himself is very destructive to his livelihood but if he doesn't want to change then who are we to mouth off at him with people being so judgemental these days it's difficult to just do what you want and not have someone on your back for it . I don't personally think he wanted to be re-hired and I also believe it will be the broadcasters who will lose out most from his sacking. I do agree with him though on the basis that if he was sacked it should have been issued personally and not through the media, that's a bad move for sure.

The only one "mouthing off" is Charlie Sheen himself and it's for this reason people are speaking out about him and that is not judgemental, it's strictly people voicing their opinion on a guy who's asking for this kind of attention good or bad.Afterall he is a public figure and the public he depends on for his very livlihood have the right to voice their opinion, especially when Charlie Sheen himself lays it all out there for the world to see.
What he does with his private life is his business but when someone behaves the way he does for all the world to see and on top of everything else makes no apologies to anyone he has damaged by his erratic and destructive behavior, you have to expect a backlash.

People speaking about Charlie Sheen even if it's about his rants is a persons own personal rant against him I'm not saying Charlie Sheen isn't a complete git, who should know when to keep quiet because he should really learn but my point is people speaking ill of him or telling him to be quiet is only going to have a reverse effect on his way towards the public. Charlie loves attention but so do many celebrities who equally get ranted at for different things and are constantly judged.
Opinion is a form of judgement. His various problems are very serious but again if I said to anyone that something was wrong with them would they listen generally no they would ignore maybe he will eventually realise that he needs to solve his problems but us forming opinions on him won't change his attitude it has to be him and him alone who decides to change .

I love the show and will be open minded if a different actor takes the role of Charlie. I think that Charlie Sheen thinks to highly of himself if he thinks that the show will fail without him. I am actually glad that he got fired. He deserved it. He got away with his crap for far to long.

After reading some of the items on the internet, it seems that no matter what Charlie "Shameful" Sheen does he keeps getting richer and richer. "As comedian Norm MacDonald tweeted before Sheen was kicked off "Men": "I pray that someone can help (at sign)CharlieSheen before he becomes even more successful, richer and happier." (from Lynn Elber's article "Without 'Men', is Charlie Sheen winning or losing?")
I think that he should fork over some dough to the other actors of the show. They should be compensated for earnings lost while Shameful Charlie was acting like a horses @ss. That seems to be the kind of acting that he is best at.
I think that the show, "Two and a half Men" has a great cast that does a great job. Let another actor take the role of "Charlie Harper". The '70's show, "Valerie" went on after Valerie Harper left. The cast of "Frazier" did an excellent job of keeping the show going when Kelsey Grammer was in rehab.
Let another actor take the role of "Charlie Harper". Let the show go on...
My favorite character is "Berta" anyway!

Even though i was never a big fan of the show,i would also like to see it continue, since i really feel badly for the other cast members who are very talented in their own right and don't deserve to lose their jobs due to Charlie's antics.
And i agree, why not replace him with someone else? (which from what some entertainment journalsts are reporting the show will not be cancelled and they will be looking for a replacement) I would think there are many talented actors out there who would be more than happy to take over his role and do a good job.
As far as Charlie getting "richer" unfortunately, there will always be people out there who are willing to take a chance on someone who's on a downhill spiral, since now i hear he may actually be given his own "reality program",unbelievable!

I actually don't think that replacing him will do the show any good. Like him or not he is the show. I think what made it so popular for him was that he was literally playing himself and who could do that better than him? I think the show will just go down. As for Charlie, I think that some of this is a put-on. It sure has brought him a lot of attention and notieriety.

Ok, I really am not a Charlie Sheen fan and I really hadn't followed his demise as closely as some others ...obviously. I just saw some bleeps from some other interviews on the news tonite. I retract my theory that it is just a put-on. The man is obviously in need of help. I have actually only seen the show a handful of times and it is funny and a good part of what makes Charlie funny would be his co-stars. I think with a little creativity, they could re-write the show without Charlie and without replacing him but rather creating another roommate.

It may very well not do the show much good and i agree replacing him won't be an easy task.but, i do think his cast members deserve to keep their jobs, since it's very unfair for them to lose out on account of Charlie Sheens behavior.
OMG a "put on"? if in fact it is an act,it sure didn't do Charlie much good, since due to his crazy behavior,he managed to have his kids taken away plus lose his job on top of it all. How he's acting now is no different than how he's been acting all along, he just craves attention whether it's good or bad and he sure is getting it, only,it's sure to backfire on him in a much bigger way than just losing his job.

The only reason I watch 2 1/2 men is because Vampire Diaries comes on after it so I always catch it in the middle. Regardless of what kind of person he is, he may have a point. Some people get used to a role being played by one specific person and its hard for them to accept when suddenly there's a new actor/actress in their place especially if that person doesn't deliver as well as the one before them.

I agree, replacing him with someone who would actually take over his role would be very difficult,i'm pretty sure they're just looking for someone to be added to the cast, but, not in the role of Charlie Harper, maybe like a new roommate or cousin of John Cryer.I would assume the reason they want to keep the show going is due to the great amount of money the producers would be losing if they simply cancelled the show, not to mention the other cast members who would be out of a job.

People get fired for sending e-mails critical of their boss. Why should someone get fired who broadcasts his criticism to the world. Charlie Sheen should realize that he did not invent TV. It was there before him and it will still be there long after he is gone, although perhaps in a different format. The real problem is that even when his money runs out, he won't realize that it was all his fault.

This is what amazes me about Charlie Sheen.Due to his erratic and insane behavior he managed to halt production on the highest rated program on tv.slam his employers who made him rich and bolstered his career, caused his cast mates their jobs and yet, remains as arrogant and self serving as anyone can be.
This is so typical of certain celebrities who think the world revolves around them, just because they happen to be in the limelight and making tons of money they
don't really deserve. But, i have a feeling Charlie Sheen is in for a rude awakening involving a lot more than just losing his job.

i agree, it's not fair at all, most people would give anything to have what he threw away.and even after all that has happened, his ego is still way over the top.
Yes i heard about John Stamos as a possible replacement for him but, i also heard Rob Lowe's name mentioned as well, but who knows whether they'll bring the show back at all, since their not giving out much information as of yet.

Yeah, he was funny, but now he's funny in a bad way.
Problem is, if we trashed our bosses the way he did we'd be fired on the spot with no chance of getting our jobs back, but, guess what? CBS is trying to get him to come back to Two And A Half Men, so i guess in the long run, it's all about money.in my opinion CBS and Charlie Sheen are both crazy, incredible!

yw, Like him or not, Charlie Sheen has become his own worst enemy, he had it all and threw it away like so much garbage. You are so right when you say how we handle success "predicts our future" obviously his future s looking pretty grim right now and the shame of it all is, it didn't have to be this way.

well, it really doesnt suprise me that he was fired with the way he was slamming the producers. i think they will be better off. will the show be coming back?

From what i've learned so far, it looks like the show will continue, but no one is saying who will replace Charlie Sheen or even when the program will be back on the air.but, whatever happens,i also feel he will have a very hard time getting any worthwhile projects, due to the fact that his behavior has gone way beyond normal.

I am actually glad that Charlie Sheen was finally fired. It's been a long time coming. He was good on the show, but was not an actor that I cared for anyway. I have always liked Jon Cryer, and like Angus T. Jones and Holland Taylor and their characters, however my favorite character on the show is Berta played by Conchata Ferrell.
I think that any good actor could fill the role of "Charlie" and hopefully be a more responsible role model as an actor. Bring the show back with a new "Charlie"! I think that even some of the diehard Charlie Sheen fans will realize that he went to far and will give a new actor the chance. The cast of Frazier managed to keep the show going with the absense of Kelsey Grammer (who was in rehab), which speaks well for the rest of the cast of the show. I think the cast of "Two and 1/2 Men" is excellent and deserve better than Charlie Shameful, I mean Sheen.
Tell Charlie Sheen to grow up and get his life together. He is a mess, a total disgrace.

It is certainly true that he did this to himself. I figured that it just going to be a matter of time before this sort of thing happened. It was somewhat to be expected, after all he said about the show, the people working on the show, etc. But this is just how I felt about it.

Charlie Sheen is just acting self centered like so many stars these days do. They start believing that their above all men kind and nothing can't touch them. Look at all the other stars that have went face down because of the same things. whats bad about this whole thing is, not only did he get fired but the show will not last so all of the other cast will also loss their jobs after while.

Yes i agree that many of these celebrities are very self centered and egotistical, but, honestly i have never witnessed a more self destructive, arrogant and really out there person such as Charlie Sheen. This guy has lost all sense of reality and has no intentions of keeping his mouth closed. before and even after he was fired from a program that paid him an enormous salary, boosted his career and put up with his very public displays of anger and drunkedness,he continues to blame everyone but himself.
As far as the other actors are concerned, from what i heard the show will continue with a replacement for Charlie's role, but who it is and when the show will continue, i have no idea.

I am sad because I really like him on the show, but oh well he only has himself to blame. I read this this morning on my Comcast News and thought well it was coming.
Maybe the show will not survive without him, but on another note did he think his bosses were going to condone his behavior. That is the problem with these celebs who get so full of themselves and feel that they are invincible. I do hope for his own sake that he takes care of his issues because this will be the destruction of whatever life he has left. So sad!

I wasn't a fan of the show but my husband really liked and watched it regularly, but, even he mentioned that he couldn't feel sorry for Charlie Sheen, since his decision to appear on every interview program and literally "bite the hand that fed him" by ridiculing and insulting his former employers, and being so totally arrogant and full of himself,he deserved to be fired.
Here's a guy who at one time or another had it made in every sense of the word. A loving family (i feel so bad for his Dad) beautiful chldren, a hit tv program and (of course not in Charlies mind,) a huge salary most people would die for and what does he do, throws it all out the window and still expects people to grovel at his feet.i'm sorry, but my sympathy goes out to those who love and care for him and are forced to watch their loved one slowly kill himself, sad yes,but totally self inflicted.
