Just a couple questions concerning Herold.

I have been amazed to meet him in the third installment. Herold is amazing. That is exactly what i expect from the fallout series. I wanted to ask however how to resolve the quest properly. Am i supposed to kill Herold? Or rather use one of the other two approaches. And if you know id like to know what kind of an impact all of the ways have. Thanks
