Free article writing software

I have heard about many free article writing softwares out there. But I have never used one as I don't need to write articles on this big a scale so as to have a software for that. But yet, I am curious to know what the funda actually is. I am also curious to know what kind of free downloadable softwares are there. Can anyone suggest me please?

Yeah I had heard about one on 'earn passive income' blog. But I can't remember it's name. He had written some posts about article submission and in one post he said about one software which he used to submit a single article to different sites. It worked fine for him because the software interchange the words, sentences and paragraph and totally it will look a different article. Believe me it is not my blog. The owner is some Pat.
