Last December i got this idea of doing a crosstitch again..and yes i did go to the store and bought a pattern, it was a pattern of the virgin Mary holding Jesus Christ after He died on the cross and i realized after purchasing that it was big, yes big, it was divided into 6 patterns and it was big! lol till now i am not yet finish with it..barely even finished with the first pattern but i intend on finishing it up. hahaha anyone loves crosstitch too? i am not that good at it but it used to be a hobby, just reviving it now

I love cross-stitch too! Especially those big ones. I love big and cute styling one. Why big? Coz it will take too long to finish and that would make my boredom go away. I stitch fast and neatly. For me, the back and the front matters. I want both of them clean from dirt and clean tying at the back. Cross stitch is a very good leisure that isnt tiring (for me). It also is very fulfilling when you finish and get it frame and be proud to display it. I love to stitch someday those wall-mounted one, like a really really big one!.. :D Though its been so long since I last stitched. It was during my highschool days for economics project. I stitched a small one and framed it.

I love doing cross stitch but am realizing with time I have to worik on them my main concern it to finsh pieces for my family. I have several other peices and pattern books that would go by the way side If anyone would like a cross stitch grabbag sent to them, write me and I will make sure you get a pattern book. or kit, or pattern with all needed to make the piece in a kit., I know I will never get them all done I think I became a pattern collector Now I make cross stitch cards to sell online Ebay and bring in few dollars I will be making some this weekend and let them beseen here on mylot so peopole know what they look like. I use ribbons and button trimmings to match the theme of the cross stitch piece I did for the card. Just send me a message and I will more htan gladly send you something from my statch. I love sharing my crafting with someone. Have a wonderful night

I love crosstich but I can't do big projects. It does require time and accuracy, most frustrating part is when you have done a lot already then you would realize that the counting on one line is not correct. There's no satisfaction in small ones really. Also it can strain your eyes. But maybe someday if I could still do one and still blessed with a good eyesight, I'll go for a big one and display it at home. I have patterns if you like you could PM me.

Did you really started cross stitching again? lol! I would never have the time. And I think it wouldn't relax me, rather just make me more frustrated because we have to do one single hole at a time! lol! I just don't have the patience anymore. I'm rooting for you though.

I've never done cross stitching in my life, but I have seen my mom did it in the past(like 15 years ago? can't remember lol). I think it's a good theraphy for stress and it's a pretty rewarding hobby because you can always see your masterpiece . I do want to start cross stitching, but with a 1 year old and 40 hours a week of full time job, I don't have much time left other that to rest . I admire the results, and I'd love to see mine on my walls someday :) have fun cross stitching!

It's pretty ironic isn't it that we tend to crave things that we almost cannot do. How many cross stitches project have you done?

I love making cross stitch as well, I have one framed already, which is a lovely scenery with a house on it with a sign of our family name. I love the design because it features a lot of garden with different colors and flowers with a background of blue sea, so when I saw the finish product in a craft's store album, I bought the pattern already and start doing my stuff. I also have one, created when I was still in college, more than 12 years ago, and up to now, its not yet finish, the pattern had it titled as, Queen Anne's Lace (told in a garden) as you can see, I am really very fond of plants and flowers. Its almost finish, the only thing left undone was the gown of the queen because I have to buy many kinds of beads for that. The pattern is divided into four so its quite large as well, yours was larger and I must assume that you're so hardworking for choosing your design. Well. I feel that its so beautiful and elegant so go for it and finish that okay? I knew that cross stitch really requires patience and perseverance but its all worth it, now, you gave me an idea to finish my old cross stitch, LOL! Thanks a lot for that, have a nice day ahead!

I have seen patterns with flowers on it and gardens but i am not up for it..it has too much colors hahaha i like ones with less colors like the one i've picked, its more on the tones of gold..and its different shade, i forgot to picture it so you guys could see. maybe tomorrow i will :)

it brings me back in crosstich days where in school would require you to do some & have to pay for the package, pattern & its thread that sometimes doesn't match the picture pattern. yah sometimes beads are really needed for your work look more elegant.

Wow that must look so cool after it's completed You should definitely upload a picture once you're done with it =) Actually I had totally forgotten about cross stitch. I am not too good but can do it. Actually I learned it back in school when we had projects. The teacher would tell us to do it and we had to submit a piece of our own. I hated it back then but I'm glad now that I learned it

I love to cross-stitch but it has been a long time since I did any. I did complete a huge Jesus stand knocking at the door and after I got it done I gave it away as a gift. I did a huge Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. I have been thinking that I wanted to get back into it but haven't had the time to get busy with it so far. I want to see a picture or pictures as you progress. I know it is going to be beautiful!

Good Morning Jazel! Thank you for the discussion. Will you have a lot of backstitching to do after you finish this large piece? My girlfriend and I have been doing cross stitch for many years. Actually she has done it a lot longer than me and helped get me started. I started out on the cutesy ones in local craft shops I wanted more that would mean something to someone than just a small cross stitch piece. So my girlfriend and I found 3 websites. Golden Kite which offers some of the worlds most gorgeous pieces from historic paintings and places. Mystic Stitch which offers everthing from fantasy to country type items. And most recently we found HAED (Heaven and Earth Designs. These 3 companies have larger pieces. But the beauty of the pieces are that as you stitch you bring out the dimensions of your piece. There are no fractional stitches, no backstitching. It helps to know once you have done all those x-stitches you do not have to take time and go back I will place a picture on my site here this afternoon so you can get an idea of what I am doing. I love my stitching. I have chronic fatigue, spinal desinegration so when I am focasing more on my stitching I seem to notice less pain. I recently broke away from it I think I just got tired for about a month but I am getting ready to close out of here and pick it back up today. I will add you to my friends list so maybe we can keep up with each other to encourage to keep going! Sincerely Marie

I just bought my crochet materials this month, like you said reviving old hobby. I was into crochet when i was in high school because of school projects, love and got hook to it, i have done may projects, but not big ones, i only do dollies and table runners, i stop doing crochet when i got married and have a career, i got busy and no more time for crochet. Now that my kids are all grown up and i am into retiring my jobs, i got the idea of doing some crochet projects, but i got some problem because i have already gotten some stitches names, great there is the internet, i surf the net and study some crochet videos, i am on a very simple project now, i feel like a beginner in crochet. Its nice to know that you are also interested in crochet, your brave enough to start your cross-stitch project as big as you have mentioned, i could not make that project before.

I actually did not realize it was that big not until when i opened it. i was suprised hahaha but still i really want to finish it..though it might take me months with my schedule but still i want to finish it up. lol. Crochet? wow i tried that back in high school but i really never learned how to do one, the only one i made, was a pen holder lol..the one that you could put on your neck..but iother than that i cannot. hhahaha my mom was good at it, she can make those table tops, she can make ones for long tables, unfortunately her eyes cannot do it anymore, she said it gets like that when one gets old.

Long before internet came into my life i was hooked to this hobby. I have finished a few patterns but never got the chance to frame them and now i have lost it somewhere in my parents' house. Now that you've brought this discussion, i am thinking of going back to cross stitching again and choosing a large pattern to decorate my house! Thanks for this discussion.

I cross stitch all the time. I am tackling my first big project this year. I am stitching Maggie the Messmaker which is a cat in a sewing room. Its very colorful and has lots of stitches that I am going to hate doing! That said I have already gotten side tracked from it. I have done two bookmarks and I started on a birth announcement because my little brother is having a little girl in October. I bought the Princess's Birth announcement and I am terribly excited to make it for her.
