Bulimia is not a lighter disorder than Anorexia

Although people see Bulimia as not as drastic and alarming as Anorexia for me it’s not.
Anorexics (people who don’t eat) and Bulimics (people who have binges then purge after) are two different illnesses.
You may find that Bulimics are in normal weight and doesn’t look like sticks walking, but it’s still heart wrenching when you hear them vomit or use laxative just to extract the food that they eat which makes them feel and look fat.
People in my country are not that aware of things like these happing to adolescent and young adult women. I read in the news that a young woman succumb to a coma because of this and that her internal organs weren’t receiving sufficient nutrients that’s why her body shut down.
I hope that our government will be vigilant in cases like this because more and more young adults are either dying or in rehabs because of illnesses similar to this one.

I agree. As a psychology student, as well as someone who has battled an ed for several years, bulimia is just as dangerous as anorexia. when bulimics purge, they run the risk of rupturing their stomachs, ripping their throats, creating ulcers, destroying their teeth, popping blood vessels, and various other damages to their bodies. Using laxatives can cause permanent damage to their intestines. Laxatives can cause they to not be able to have a bowel movement on their own, it can cause strain on the intestines and cause ulcers and other sores within that can cause a rupture. Its a very dangerous disease.

Hiya FM,
Of course it´s as bad as Anorexia but I suppose that People don´t see it as being so serious but yes it is.
Not going into the other bit of it very much where they seem to eat okay and then go and dispose of it all in the Bathroom after wards all that overtime causes a lot of damage inside lets just say that and nothing else.
Yes they do need help and a lot. The Problem would be getting them to see it as a problem and that it can be deadly as Anorexia.

Yes, i know about both of such conditions. At the end of it, it's not healthy for the body because nothing is being absorbed at all. I won't say people with Bulimia is worse or have any comparision between both conditions. No matter what, people should be content with their looks and happy with the way they are. IF they really want to lose weight, they should go through the right channel of exercising and proper dieting.
