Gas prices are still rising due to the unrest in the middle east.Isn't about time we stopped relying on foreign oil.We need to get our oil dosmeticly and create alternitive energy sources.

I read in the paper today that Libya only provides 2% of the world's oil, so that really doesn't make sense as to why our prices keep soaring.
If we're not using that much oil from overseas, why are we facing price hikes?
Simple. It's the big oil companies who sell it to the gas stations, they set the prices, then the gas stations set their prices for 24 hour increments.
If the price of oil goes down, the stations are slower to drop their prices in order to make a profit.
It's all about greed, not an issue overseas.
When the oil spill happened, you didn't see gas prices spike then, so the big question is why should they now?
Think about it.

So true. We are at the mercy of the gas prices. We have no choice. So gas and diesel is up so that means everything we buy in store also goes up. Take care.

I completely agree with you. But it's now only unrest in the middle east that is the cause. Countries like China also demands more and more oil and so the price gets higher and higher. Soon there will be no more oil left anyway so why not make a smooth transition from fossil fuel to alternative energy?
