Do you ever have one of those days you are bored stiff?

Been stuck in the house for two days now bored stiff. Done cleaning and cooking and can't think of a good thing to write about. Played all the games I have and still just plain don't know what to do. Seen the preacher this morning and listened to his message twice thought it would give me something good to write about. Read and replied to several of my friends discussions . But still stuck without a single good thought to share. Do you have those kinds of days? So what do you do when you get this bored?

Hi Jennyze. I meant because I can't get outside this week seems like the bad weather has set in again. Thank God for Friday it will be 68 don't matter if the sun is out or not as long as it isn't cold I can get outside and do something in the yard. I have writers block and the computer isn't doing what it is supposed to do. I have tiny spell installed and it isn't working so there might be some misspelled words in what I write.

I always dream of spending a whole winter in a "four seasons" country. To feel the snow on my face, to drive in the white vast surrounding, to cocoon myself in a thick blanket in front of the fireplace telling tales with the family over cups of cocoa... I guess the reality would be a shock for me.

I can really understand being bored, The winter and being stuck indoors seems to bring this on even more. I too, have looked for things to keep me from being idle and have even gotten bored with those things! Some additional things I added when bored were watching Netflix movies, movies that are not as popular with good content, and trying out new recipes, or reinventing some old recipes. Also I rearrange rooms. I have to strain my brainpower to come up with new things to do, but that in itself helps my boredom and keeps my brain going. I haven't tried any arts or craftwork yet, but I know this can be therapeutic and based on doing crafts before, it makes the time go by fast. These are just a few things I came up with to defeat boredom.

Hi Cansasct and welcome to my lot. The weather has gotten me down. The house is cold in the craft room and we keep it closed off during the winter months to help keep the rest of the house warm. Would be different if I could get out and do something. But stuck in the house and done all the cleaning I can stand. Thanks though for sharing.

I go clean something, because I never get it all done, let it slide too long. I have some other sites I go to, and then I have some handwork and sewing that I want to do.

I am pulling all kinds of stuff out of closets etc. because I am going to have a booth in a Monster Garage Sale. One of my online friends has talked about it and so we got booths together. So I have plenty to do. I also like to sew and do crafts.

Sign up for some freecycle groups and you may find a free sewing machine. You can post it as something you want. I seldom post that I want anything, but from time to time I get things that I need. You also may find some windows for free from people who got a tax write off for home improvements. We did, and we will be enclosing a porch to make it more usable.

Hi GardenGerty. I did all the cleaning I could stand my house is so clean I didn't want to wear my shoes in the house....LOL I even sewed up all my husbands long johns....LOL He rips the knees out of all of them. Our preacher tells us you can always tell how a man is by the rips in his clothing. My husband is a real hard worker he is always down on his knees doing some kind of work.

Sadly I dont tend to have many days when I am bored. Unless of course I am at work then without realising the boredom sinks in. Do have days when I struggle to write something though. Then seek inspiration from the net or try something diffirent like a review.

I have had day's like this and I know how you feel. I hate days like that. I normally end up curling up with a good book or watching a movie to pass the time. That is if I can find something I haven't already watched or read.

Hi Dodo. It is hard when what we really like to do the tools we need we can't use because our air compressor took a dive and we haven't been able to have it fixed. Oh well maybe this weather will start looking better and we can get outside and do something.

Hello Free_man, I try to change my routine. I go to run or play tennis, I take a little bit of sun. I take and ice cream as a little child, I attend a mass... I just try to break the routine, that´s all, good luck. Blessings!... Dainy

Hi Dainy. Would be nice if I could just get outside and do something. We are usually really busy people we are always doing something. But when it gets cold we don't want to get out. I wish the weather would warm up enough to get outside. Thanks for the blessings I send the blessings back to you my friend.

I haven't been bored for a long time, since there's so much I want to do that I don't have enough time. I'm always reading and learning something new that makes me curious about other things that keeps adding to my to do lists.

Hi Lore. It is a good thing when you have all that is necessary to do what ever you have your heart set on doing. If we had the air compressor working we would be out side in the garage working and we would be building all kinds of neat stuff. We have been trying to get the money saved to buy a new one but just things keep coming up that we have to get done. Oh well maybe soon we will get that fixed and will be building bird houses and doll house to sell with Gods will it will happen.

You probably don't believe in Astrology but Tuesday was a bad day for me (it's early Wednesday now) as I had this Black Dog feeling for a couple of hours, then it went as quickly as it came. Weird to say the least.
Now, I rang Mum, like I normally do on a Tuesday night and she experienced exactly the same...and I blame the Stars in the Heavens! Everything went OK for her on Monday (to a point) but downhill big-time on Tuesday with the difference being, she was at work and I was at home!
I know what boredom is like as it probably happens to me at least once a day, especially during the working week when John is at work and I'm in the house.
When I get up on Wednesday I shall make a point of having a much more positive day. How, I don't know but I'm determined!

Hi Janey. My friend. No I don't believe in astrology. We are bored stiff because we have been stuck in the house for a couple of days now. We are really active people and love to stay busy. And with the warm weather we had last week we got to work in the yard a lot. But it has gotten cold and wet for the last two days and we haven't been able to do more then run out to check the mail.....LOL We tried watching movies but that is so old we are starting to be albe to know them word for word....LOL That's bad....LOL I hope you do have a better positive day tomorrow my friend.

Oh dear, it isn't good when you can't get out..I know that feeling my friend! I hope it improves for you.
Here it's very cold actually, for March at least. No mention of snow, thank goodness.
At least you have your MyLot friends to keep you entertained.

I never want to get bored but it's inevitable, specially if there is no electricity. You cannot watch TV and surf the net, so i try to look for a book amongst those that i haven't read or better yet the bible and would read.
THat way, i get to make use of my spare time without boredom.

Hi Simplyd. Good book to read the bible. I had read it once and couldn't understand a lot of the names. So I started listening to a teacher of Gods word that taught us how to understand the names and the importance in each name. Names do have meanings.

Numbers have meanings too. I like your response. Thanks for sharing.

I most oftenly have one of those days and it is awful...you feel like you have nothing meaningful neither to do nor to tell and share with people.Nothing can keep your interest and nothing seems to make any sense at all.I have been sitting infront of my computer for hours during one or another of those days realizing again and again I cannot think of anything good to write about.Usually I let my mind have a looong break by reading a book or watching a movie. Then after have let the effort to think of something meaningful away , my brain comes alltogether by itself and the desperate boredom disappears.the trick it just to accept that that just isnt your creative day, concerned to any activity and try spending it resting.

Hi Ralitsatomova and welcome to my lot. We only get this way when we can't get outside and work in the yard. Doing something positive is a good thing. But the house if it gets any cleaner we won't want to walk into the house with our shoes on...LOL Will be in a better mood when the weather gets better. Thanks for sharing.

Today is actually one of those days, lol. Thats why I'm on here, lol. Its a huge snowstorm outside and the roads are bad. Maybe you should try reading a book. Its the perfect day for one, and that always seems to cure my boredom. Or maybe throw on a track-list of your fave songs and do a little workout!!! Beneficial and fun!

Hi Jaymze and welcome to my lot. Good ideals but since reading gives me a headache no good to do that. Would try doing the work out thing but have two dogs that would be attacking me when I try to just move across the room. They think I am playing with them when I get up to go to another room. Have to put them out to do a work out but can't put them out with the weather raining and cold. But thanks good ideals.

Hi. free_man. I have been like this terribly before my husband got the T.V. and the Internet in our home. I was so bored. Bored silly and stiff! I would go to the library and I checked out so many books. I would read them all. I mean I had so many books. I would check out up to 16 books. I did that just so that I could fight off my extreme boredom. I had nothing to do. I had many things to do, but I had already done them. I went out more and I hardly stayed at home. I just could not sit and do nothing. I tried to find things to do to occupy my time. Besides taking care of my three kids, I was bored. Now, I am not so bored anymore, I have the Internet and a TV to watch. When I get bored, I will listen to the radio or just look at old magazines. If my kids get bored I will let them draw and read many books until they get bored all over again...

Hi Cream. It is a good thing to read. We have the TV which don't come in when we have bad weather and we have seen our movies so many times we know them by heart.....LOL We are really active people and it is hard to sit still for long periods at a time. We play games and do the internet thing. The house gets a spring cleaning at least 4-5 times when the bad winter comes in....LOL

We know all of them by heart....LOL When you get stuck in the house and nothing else to do it drives both of us nuts....LoL Well nuttier then we both are already.....LOL We are really active people and it is hard for us to sit still.
