Any Lightroom experts?

I just got Lightroom 3, after exhausting Photoshop CS1 for long after its useful shelf life. Two questions: 1--Lightroom runs very slowly on my computer. I've got more than enough ram, but I'm not sure if my processor is good enough. The specs on Adobe's website say that LR needs a Pentium 4 or equivalent. My computer has a dual core Pentium of some sort--I'm not a hardware guy and I'm on a different computer. Is that enough information to tell me if I need to upgrade? 2--Is there a way to convert a color negative to a positive in Lightroom? I've found a few tutorials for converting b/w negs to positives, but nothing for color. The b/w conversion leaves color negs with a blue cast--my knowledge of analog color printing says that this had something to do with the blue emulsion on color paper. Help is appreciated!
