Yesterday I was simply surfing channels to see if any good movies was on. I happened to flick the MTV channel where a reality show was on. I do not know what show it was but it was something going on the beach of Anjuna in Goa, India and where young ladies dressed kinkily in black strappy leathers were leading their boyfriends??? by holding on to their leashes!! These young men wore only underwear and dog collars with spikes around their necks. These ladies were supposed to get love cookies and feed those men!
And it was really gross!! I don't know how people can enjoy watching such things! I mean, there are some who are 'Into" kink but making a reality show out of it and making others watch it is something else! what do you all feel about such shows??

I have to admit I watch Survivor and Amazing Race sometimes. I have watched some other reality tv. The only reason I like to watch this stuff is to see how stupid people can really be. WE HAVE SOME REALLY STUPID PEOPLE OUT THEIR!!!

Stupid or smart, I really cannot decide which! When I see these people winning thousands and millions of rupees or dollars, and I see myself and everyone I know slogging away each day, I really feel stupid!
But then is it about money or massaging self egos? and only some win, so do the losers get money as well? I mean, thinking of it, what really motivates these people to make a fool of themselves in front of thousands of audiences?

I think the pot of money at the end. I believe all of the people who enter these contests have huge self egos. They would have to. To believe they can out last, plot, scheme and lie their way to the end. Why would any one want to starve and lie to win a game just doesn't seem right to me. I guess that's because I don't have a big ego and I care about others.
If you like cooking shows, you should try watch Top Chef. I absolutely love it. Real unknown chef compete to become the Top Chef. They cook their way to the end or are elimated for their poor dishes. Good Show

Yeah, thinking about it, it IS a matter of huge egos and ultimately the big pot of money at the end of all the silly and stupid course of things. And caring or not about others too matter a lot in such situations, if you do not have it in your nature, you cannot go for such shows.
I do love sooking shows, especially the Nigella Lawson and Rachel Allen's shows on TLC and some of our local channel shows too!

They're definitely NOT worth watching as far as I'm concerned! I think the saddest day for TV was when someone made the discovery that there are enough gullible viewers to watch any kind of exploitation garbage they can come up with so the networks no longer have to come up with as many quality comedies and dramas with good writers and actors who just happen to cost a lot of money! Instead they get these losers looking for their 15 minutes of fame and willing to make as big an a$$ of themselves as possible in order to get it.
I think what bothers me the most is how these reality show "stars" end up going on other shows as "celebrities"! "Dancing With the Stars" is a decent show where at least there has to be some talent and hard work involved. At least the professional dancers are very good and some of the "stars" are surprisingly good dancers. Some of the "stars" are great dancers but it's not so surprising - examples are Jennifer Grey, Sean Johnson and Kristi Yamaguchi (sp). Some may not be the best dancers but they're still entertaining such as Jerry Springer and Cloris Leachman.
And then there are the "stars" who aren't stars at all; they're not even slightly over the hill stars or half-forgotten stars like some of the cast members have understandably been since obviously a top TV or movie actor would hardly have time to commit to a series like DWTS. It's the "stars" whose only claim to fame is their appearances on reality shows that bug me! I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but don't even get me started on Bristol Palin; on what planet is she a "star"?
OK, I guess I'm done with my rant now... I just find it so frustrating there are so few good drama and comedy shows on these days and too many that do come on are given such a short time before they're canceled - and often replaced by yet another stupid reality show!
