I was thinking of seeing a nice movie inside a theater at a mall but at this time it cost much. As I was walking along the overpass I saw bunches of low-cost 8 in 1 DVDs and It happened my favorite movies were included there. I let it be played and the quality is quite good but not as better in original one. Should I go to cinema with my friends and enjoy watching or more better to buy that DVD and enjoy at home?

I'd say that all depends on your personal preferences and situation. I really love going to the movies but I don't go very often because it's so expensive and the nearest theater to me is far enough away for the cost of gas to be a factor these days. Also, it's usually hard to find someone to go with me since my husband isn't one for going to the movies and we don't really share the same taste in films.
There are some films that really are best enjoyed on the big screen as opposed to on TV to get the full impact. However, for the most part I wait for a movie to come out on DVD or to come on HBO or one of the other premium channels. Then I DVR it and watch whenever I want to.

I am with you on the cost.
I go buy the dvd and we can watch it more than one time.
Last time we went to the movies it cost us 56.00 dollars for the 4 of us.

well I personally would settle for a dvd option since I don't tend to go to cinema often anymore lately, cause I figured if the movie is not really some huge hit it's pointless to throw cash out to go watch it when you can do the sžame at home and by chance for free too, so second option sounds best unless you want a huge screen in front of you for a better enjoyment then go see it in theatre.

Well, if it's really a nice movie, then you should watch it in cinema because obviously the sound system is better there. After watching it and if I find that the movie is nice, then I would buy the DVD and watch it again and again, LOL! That way you get to enjoy both cinema and home.

If I want to be alone and peaceful a while with my huby we go to the cinema. There are some promotions here in my city, so we can go 2x1... and if we want to stay with kids, we just watch tv, of course with some popcorn! =) Blessings!... Dainy

If you're buying DVDs legally then the quality should be pristine. If the DVDs you're buying are pirated, then they're more likely to be crummy quality. Buy legal DVD copies.
I go to the theater and I watch DVDs at home. I've recently got into renting movies from Redbox, where I can rent a movie for a dollar a day. I go to the 2nd run theater a whole lot because they only charge $1-2 dollar admission. I have to wait for a bit before a movie gets there, but I usually don't mind. If a movie comes out that I REALLY want to see (Twilight: Eclipse, Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Legend of the Guardians) then I'll run out to the theater and see it immediately. I know what kinds of movies that I like so I rarely regret it when I do run out and see movies at once. If I love a movie then I want my own DVD copy, which I'll buy when it comes out. If I haven't seen a movie yet I usually like to rent a movie before I buy it so that I know whether or not I like it.

That movie is a must-see this month. I also saw the trailer and it is intriguing. I hope it will not be the trailer that is nice. I am looking to enjoy this movie i hope it is satisfying. I had this question why is it that Los Angeles is always fun to be ruined in a film? Remember the Independence Day and 2012 it all happened there.

I tend to like watching in the cinema more. The feel of everything is better for me. I actually understand the movie more too when I see it in the cinema. It is just more engaging than watching the movie at home.
It is your choice though. If you are on a budget then it is better just to watch at home. You can still have your friends watch the movie with you. You can invite them over and have a movie party or something.

We hardly watch movies at the cinema because it is quite too pricey to see one.
It is not only the movie tickets you would buy but also the movie snacks which is quite overpriced I must say. Better watch the dvd if you are being frugal about it. But if you want to impress a girl on a date, I must say you better watch a movie.

Going to the cinema is okay and fun specially when with friends, but it's costly.
With the advent of VHS , then CDs and then now , DVDs, we could very well view them at home with our friends. There you could perhaps cook something to eat before watching it . That way, you saved on cost and have even more fun.
Like you, my husband and I , watches movies at our DVDs. We would buy or borrow from friends and just watch it at home. My daughter because she's in a dorm, would watch the movie together with her friends. I guess, she have to experience that, because as teenagers my husband and i got to experience that before, too.

even how much i wanted to see movies in theaters, i always consider the money that will be spent if, the whole family will go out together. the fact that an 8-in-1 DVD only costs half or even less than the price of a movie ticket, i will only save the money for that ticket to buy the DVD and the whole family will enjoy watching those movies, together. a lot of savings.

There are some movies that are better watched in the theater rather than at home, unless you got a home theater with a big ed screen or 3D tv! It's really not good buying pirated videos as they destroy the movie industry. However, if you think about the cost of watching movies in the theater sometimes you would think twice of going.
Nowadays I seldom go to the theater and I only watch movies with my husband and son and we make sure that the movie is worth every penny we spend. It's like our family day so spending a lot has more benefits and that's not only the movie but the time that we spend together.

I think it saves you money to watch movies on your couch with a warm blanket wrapped around you in a place that you know so well. But, sometimes it's nice to go out with a bunch of friends and watch a movie and then a get a bite to eat but that's only nice every once in a while.
But sometimes your friends may want to talk during a movie and for some movies that's okay but there are certain type of movies that you can't talk during. I think it's best to watch a movie at home by yourself so that way you can enjoy the movie without any distractions.

I think that unless its something that you would enjoy more on the big screen ie: Big blockbuster special effect 3d movie, then stay home and save money by renting. The theater is way to expensive nowadays and in my opinion not worth it. If the movie sucks, your out 20-30 bucks, lol
