Now an Independent Agent For Maxicare

Philippines

I have worked for 2 outstanding call centers here in the Philippines, and both of them give health benefits to their employees and both of them have Maxicare as their health provider. And when i was there, i really appreciated the help of having a health card. I just did not need to worry about hospital bills and diagnostic procedures or anything that has something to do with my illeness at that time (usually asthma attacks). When i got married, i decided to quit the call center industry. But too bad, i also had to give up my health card. Then, i had to shell out savings for medical emergencies. Last month i decided i want to have a health card, as i am too sickly not to have any. I realized every asthma attack i would have would also attack my purse. So i called maxicare and asked if they do have such a thing as individual accounts, as i am not anymore an employee. And then, they said yes, they do have. Then they referred me to an agent, who then suggested that i become an agent myself. She said becoming an Independent maxicare Agent would not entail 8 hours work in the office each day. She said, i get to follow my own schedule. So here i am here, writing now, excited to share my experiences with Maxicare and sharing my thoughts on becoming their independent agent. I believe i do not really have to sell them hard as it is a real necessity. How about you? Do you have any experiences, good or bad, with any health provider? How do you think will i be able to do as an Independent Agent in terms of marketing? Any suggestions or comments?

Hi, I want to be an agent too. I also want to get HMO for my parents. My father is a diabetic patient. Do you have any idea if it's possible to get HMO for him. I live in Bacolod City. email: c.andersoon@yahoo.com

Age eligibility for individual account is 2-60 years. So if your father is 60 or less, he can get an individual account. But with individual or family account, pre-existing illnesses, such as diabetes, it mey be covered on the first year of membership but not for the years thereafter. Unlike with group and corporate accounts, these are accounts with employer-employee relationship, they are usually covered. About you wanting to be an agent, you sure can.
