We all live on hopes and we get terribly disappointed when they do not materialise. In this connection I vividly remember the poem written by famous nature poet Wordsworth who said.."If hopes are dupes fears may be liars".When we think about this deeply we can understand the deep and hidden message in these words. As we get disappointed when our expectations or hopes are not fulfilled so also it is possible that our worst fears may not actually materialise. Are you not happy when your fears do not become true. The meaning of those words are wonderful. What do you say..?

Yes. We are all disappointed when our hopes aren't fulfilled. So we must not expect anything. That happened to me many times.

If you had been disappointed in your hopes it is likely that your worst fears will also not materialise. It is philosophical thought to encourge people to take things as they come with equanimity...

yeah.... If my hope would fulfilled, then i am in gunnies world record. At my very early age.. i collected match boxes of several brands.... more than 2000 within two years... and kept all of them in a basket. Suddenly one day i discovered a mouse family there and found more than 1000 are vanished. I left that collection... but if i would continue.... more than lakhs are there till now as more than 20 years have passed by. Thanks.

It is only words of wisdom to live happy life. These words teach people to be less pessimistic. The idea is very beautiful and if every one of us can understand the real and hidden message in these words we can life happy and peaceful life. These are all morals lessons that the great poets want to convey to people at large whereever they be or whatever may be time they live in in...

Hi chayapathys,
They say man is mortal and God is perfect. Here the concept of perfection has been shifted to our inaction or non capability of mastering the maters.
Thus all our hopes are not supposed to come true. And we have to make compromise with our life. No doubt we can travail very near to perfection but finally there would be curtain and your limitation has been suspended.
But with strong will power and determination we can achieve some of our goals but not all.

I got confused the first time I read what you were quoting from a poem. I guess, he has a point. That maybe since our hopes don't come true, then maybe our worst fears, known and unknown, won't also come true. But still, it's devastating to be hoping for something especially for a long time and just get disappointed in the end.

It is only moral lesson that the poet wanted to convey. It may not be true in all cases and at all times.what the poets means is that we should not get bogged down when our hopes do not materialise on the analogy that our worst fears also may not materialise. These are only guidelines to make life as comfortable as possible...

When our hopes do not come true, God has something more beautiful and nicer that will happen to us. Just be patient and persevere in prayers because it will eventually come.
As to fear, if you are confident that God will help you, you have nothing to fear.

That is a nice thought that maybe our fears aren't really that scary because they can't come true but that means that our hopes can't as well.I am a optimistic person and hope is what I practically survive on,so I'd much rather keep hoping........our hopes and fears after all make us who we are. What would be the fun in life without a little fear and a little hope?I would be happy if my fears didn't come true but not at the cost of my hopes............
