Dumb Warning Labels

I was reading a certain article and I was amazed to know that there are warning labels that sounds to be dumb. Here are some of it. 1. Label: Never operate your speakerphone while driving. Product: Jabra Drive 'N' Talk. This is too dumb warning because the product is a bluetooth speakerphone accessory for mobile phones. 2. Label: This product may contain nuts. Product: Peanuts & Peanut M&Ms. Of course, what would that Peanuts & Peanut M&Ms would contain other than peanut? Would it contain raisin without a peanut on it? Truly dumb, right? 3. Label: Do not hold the wrong end of a chainsaw. Product: Chainsaw. Only a dumb person would really touch and hold that wrong end. 4. Label: Do not use while sleeping. Product: Hair dryer. Who would use hair dryer while sleeping? Am I insane? 5. Label: This product may contain eggs. Product: A carton of eggs. What does it contain other than eggs? 6. Label: Do not put any person in this washer. Product: Huebsch Washing Machine. The heck! Would I wash anyone in a washing machine?

I've seen my fair share of these as well! Point blank, people are stupid. You must wonder why there is a need for these labels at all though. Such a pity.

Hi Stephanie, Quite funny indeed but then again, there are people like my sweet dear boyfriends mother.

OMG yes it is almost as if the manufacturer and or distributors actually think we are so dumb that we need full guided information. On the other hand my boyfriends mother perhaps could use a label like this because who puts their cell phone in the microwave.

Hi there! hahahaha... I think that companies should know what they're selling. Come on, "Peanuts may contain peanuts"? :O I wouldn't have guessed that! The question is... What kind of person came up with those labels? Happy MyLotting and have a nice day!

Hi Maean. Thanks for the laughs. But I have seen a lot of these things too. I think who ever did the warning labels has got to have a screw loose...LOL. That reminds me of the new medicines that they make they say something like if you take this product it might kill you don't take while driving it is a sleeping pill. Oh well it takes all kinds to make this world go around. Thanks for sharing. Got a good laugh....LOL

The only reason these labels do exist is because there are people dumb enough to do every single one of these things. And I am very serious when I see that. There are people out there who would do every thing and I'm sure some things that are far more stupid than the things that are really named. The stupidity of humans has no limit a lot of the time. It is also to protect the company that is making it from huge lawsuits and there have been some insane lawsuits over the years, over the most inane of things. If they get sued over these things, they can point out that they tried to warn the people in question. They were just fools that really did abstain from listening. Still don't underestimate people. They will do some really dumb things and they may need to have things explained to them.

I have personally seen "contents may be hot after heating" well I should hope so too. and I've heard of, but can't verify, a superman costume where the label advises "this cape does not enable the wearer to fly" but I don't know if that's true. surely no one is THAT stupid. but then I look at "Contents may be hot after heating", and realise it's not so far fetched.

Yes, I've seen some of those before. As sad as it sounds... people have sued over the things that the labels warn against and therefore the company puts the label on to avoid further lawsuits. Now were they just being stupid or did they want some easy cash? I pray to God it's the latter! In any case, those people probably weren't and aren't reading the labels anyway... so the stupid protection factor fails to work.
