I watched on ABC world news that 20 states in USA Schools are stilling spanking children with wooden Paddles. I think this is ridiculous. http://abcnews.go.com/US/fashion-designer-marc-ecko-campaigns-end-corporal-punishment/story?id=13084231 Its not the schools job to punish the kids in this way. I am so glad I live in a state where this kind of punishment in schools is illegal. But for the states where it is legal would you try to put a stop to it if you could? http://www.unlimitedjustice.com/ I don't see how the parents in these states can keep ignoring this problem. Does anyone on mylot know if its going on in other countries? if so why do they ignore it?

I can't believe that this can happen in USA. As in my impression, the schools in USA have so much freedom for the children and they are happy to go to school. There should not be any kind of physical punishment. Of course this should be prohibited and the teachers who have the physical punishment for the students should be fired. Long time ago here some teachers would punish the students with a ruler. As to paddling, I think it is much more serious. Here although there is high study pressure, but the physical punishment has become less because the teachers don't want to make a risk to be blamed. I can't allow it happen. I love China

thats good about what you say in China. Is it true that the kids in the schools there go to school everyday? do they get vacation leave at all like we do here in the USA? we get spring break, summer vacation, winter break around christmas time. I just heard from people in usa that in China they go to school everyday.

Here the students go to school everyday except for Saturday and Sunday. They also have summer and winter vacation. However, the homework and the study pressure is high.

This is totally ridiculous. I sure hope one day they will rid of the idea it's OK to do paddling in some of the schools. It truly is not the schools job to punish the students in this way. Detention or kicked out of school should be the furthest for punishment they should do with the students.

Actually I do NOT think it should end. I think it should be more widely used, and it should be understood that your kid WILL be paddled if your kid attends the school. You should NOT have the option to protest this punishment. Lack of discipline is the MAIN reason for all of the violence and other crap that is going on is schools in our country. Not only should they KEEP paddling students, they should probably be using a BIGGER paddle.

I cant possibly explane to myself really what kind of parents would let their children in that kind of school. There are ways of making a child behave himself and that surely is not the proper way.In my country if that ever happens, though a lot of kids do deserve it with their unproper behaviour to classmates and even teacherss,a huge scandal would appear.I really think that parents in all countries should come together and make that ridiculous way of traching stop as there is no reason I could see that makes beating of a child worthy.Families and parents should be able to behave their children without that, and so should the schools.

I am not saying their are bad parents in this world. I just think the punishments are the parents responsibility not the teachers. Teaching children how to behave in school, public, and at home I believe is the Parents job to deal with not the teachers, or principle at the schools.
