Did you ever buy a dress...and then decide not to wear them?
Have you ever bought something... and not use it?
I had recently organize my closet, and figured that I have bought a couple of clothes that I haven't even worn. I had clothes my cousin bought for me as a gift. I guess I was so convinced of what she perceived was good for me to wear. So we bought the clothes and until now I still need to wear them. Some clothes I bought were only used once and that's it. When I clear for storage, I often find myself giving them away.
Have you ever bought something, and then suddenly you wouldn't want to use them anyway?

They sure do would love a person like you.
I always think about this. Why do mannequins wore clothes better than some women?
I often get tempted to buy clothes the mannequin is wearing on a store display.
The clothes really look well on them. But when I fit them, the results aren't the same!

I tried purchasing online through a local supplier. And the dresses weren't at all what the pictures told them to be. Good thing I was able to dispose of them.
Generally I don't purchase on line. Maybe because I basically don't know how. I'm just scared being scammed by people on line.

I moved one month ago and right before I moved I went through all of my clothes in order to find out what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to donate to charity, so right now I only have clothes that I use. I sometimes buy clothes that I don't use, I try to avoid it, but sometimes it still happens. One of the things that I bought and didn't use was a dress. I wasn't able to try it on before I bought it, but it was my size and it was quite cheap, so I bought it anyway. When I got home and tried it on it looked terrible, and I never wore it.

A must when buying clothes, better try it on first before buying it.
The way we see a dress when it is hanging or being worn by a mannequin is different when we actually wear them ourselves. It helps us avoid the mistake of buying something that we wouldn't eventually wear. Saves us on money.
True. When we usually moved out, it usually gives us the opportunity to get rid of unwanted things. We have been on the move for the past 2 years and mostly we have disposed of the things that we aren't really using.

hi sweet pea usually I buy clothes because I need it and it
is really pretty so I will wear it at once. but I have some things
I did buy that I should have bypassed. So now I have some thing I
never should have bought. so it hangs in the closet unused.I
'think we all do this occasionally and its good to find someone
who likes the dress or t shirt and give it to them.I used to sell
some unused clothes to a consignment store where I got back half of what I paid originally and some other person can get a good dress for
a lot less too.

I know others sell it online. But I hardly know of such stores in my locality that I can sell my clothes to. I think that is quite a nice deal. You get paid for your clothes and make another person happy for paying it at a lesser price. I really wish we have such stores here.

now it makes me feel guilty... thinking about it is what I used to do, I used to often shop for the clothes, shoes and stuff, I bought it home then I realized I didn't like it and I just left them in the closet... But I don't do this anymore, I think twice before I buy these days, besides, I can return it if I really don't like it(of course I will return before I use it). Now I have plenty of clothes and shoes that I do't like being stuck in the closet, I'm going to give them to my sister see if she will adopt them, I thought about donating them but at the same time, I feel like it is something that I owned and I don't want them to be at some stranger's hand...weird isn't it...

I used to be like that before. Although, I'm really more careful now about buying things. It is just a waste of money if you buy and then not use them eventually.
When I clean my closet, I usually give my unwanted clothes to my relatives or I let my mom dispose it. I really don't care who she gave it to.

When this has happened to me it is usually an issue over clothing. i will buy something and it will take up space in my dresser or hang in my closet. The occasion to wear what i have bought doesnt come around. it's just easy to forget these items are still there.

I remember I bought a blouse to wear on the wedding of my brother-in-law.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the wedding.
It has been 5 years now. Haven't even get to wear it even once.

I can relate to this. Before I use to buy lots of clothes. After I used it twice I tend to forget that it still exist in my closet, LOL. Few weeks ago I cleaned up my closet and found out that I'm not using like half of what I have in it.

I figured that out too! Usually the things that I always wear at home are those on top of the pile or the ones recently washed. Sometimes, I'm just lazy getting the ones under the pile, that I just get the one on top. Pretty convenient is it?

Well we seem to think of using them when we buy them.
I really don't understand too, why we don't use them when we already take them home.
How easily can we change our minds!

I do have a handful of things that I have either bought or have been given that I never use or never have. I find that you can easily donate them to places like the Salvation Army, sell them such as on eBay or garage sales, or give them to a friend or family member who can and will use them. My sister, for instance, wears mostly the same size clothes and shoes that I do, so I can give her things that I don't wear or want if she wants them.

We had been moving for the past 2 years. So we kind of dispose most of our things. My mom's house had become a storage room for us. Most of the things we haven't used where mostly given to relatives who might find use for them.

Hi sweet pea
Of course I have one book to vouch for this one. During my student life, we were told that Dennis Ritchie was the Father of C language and when I was at the book store, I found one of his books. I purchased it then and there without thinking about its purpose or value to me... Even after long 17 years the book is there and I have barely read half of it... And to be honest, I have only understood just a few lines from that one 2 years after passed out from the institute

Hi Sids! Thanks for sharing.
Yeah we sometimes purchase things that we thought we need off the rack without really trying to look at it.
I remember one time I purchased at a grocery store and I thought I bought a spaghetti sauce but it was actually a viand sauce. They just looked the same.
The ever creative cook, my husband fortunately made a recipe to use it for.

I am not an impulsive compulsive buyer. I just buy things when I needed them; however, there was this one instance when i bought online and the dress just look so beautiful. I ordered online and when it was delivered to me, I got a little bit discouraged. The dress was too big for me. I had it repaired but it just looks bad on me. Till now, I haven't worn it. What a waste of money. It was my first online transaction and swore to go shopping at malls instead. Online items look good only on pictures. :(

I so agree! Base on my experience too of course.
We had a small business last holidays where we resell clothes.
I saw a supplier on line and bought a bulk. My husband was already warning me that I should take a look at the clothes first. But I like the pictures that she posted on-line so I didn't mind his warning. To my dismay, he was right. Half of the things I purchased didn't past for my taste. Fortunately we we're able to dispose all of them. And I learned a valuable lesson.

I'm trying really hard not to do this. But sometimes clothes look better in the store than they do at home :P. Also, my tastes change pretty quickly or I tend to forget about some of the articles I buy. I hate organising my closet because I know it's going to take loads of patience.

They do don't they? I am often times enticed to buy because it was just so good with the mannequins. And when you try it at home, suddenly you usually don't get the results that you want.

I think it really is a waste. But I think if ever we give it away, at least there is another person who may find it more useful than we do.

i usually bought stationary pads and not used them i just want them for collection, i also usually buy toys then just keep them safely lock in my closet i just want them for collection, when im old i just want to reminisce my early age by those things. i also have lots of clothes that i only used once some of them are gifts, the once i used it is just to please the one who bought it for me then after that i won't wear it again for the reason that it doesn't fit my taste of clothing or something like that. :)

I also used to collect those stationary pads when I was young. Although, I really don't know where they are now. We have actually moved so many times I can't remember anymore where I placed them.
I also have a whole cabinet of stuffed toys and dolls my parents bought for me when I was young. In fact, they even bought me an imported ceramic doll which I can't even play because it was so fragile.
And when I came to visit my mom, she gave me this shirt that was in bright pink. She bought it for herself, but for some reason she doesn't want to use it. So, she thought she might give it to me instead. Still I accepted it. I don't want to hurt her feelings. But I was thinking, My God! I can't be caught wearing that shirt!

Hi,
Last time when I was still working, I love to shop for
clothes,of course, I have more than enough clothes in my wardrobe, but
I just can't stop my hand from shopping those nice clothes
especially during sales period.
I love to wear Mango and Esprit clothes, their cutting are nice and
suit me well.
Before I proceed to make a purchase, i will look at the price and then
give them a try, although some may suit me well, but cost so expensive,i
won't buy also. I will wait till sales period, then I will buy them.
But now, i seldom shop for clothes ,as I am not working and no
income for me to spend.
I have to fully rely on my husband for living and I better spent the
money wisely.

Yeah, I agree. When a family is living on a one-income household, you really would think twice about where your money is going since each cent counts.

I don't usually buy things.
I have family who are half-way around the world. And whenever a relative comes to visit, they would often have some piece of clothing that they've bought for me. I am not one to turn down gifts so I just accept them. Some of them I don't really have any intentions of wearing, so they sit in the closet. Sometimes for years.

In terms of clothes, I rarely shop. I just wait for relatives abroad who would give me a shopping spree as a treat. That's the only time I'd get to choose clothes for free. Although, there are times that I hardly even worn the clothes that I choose.

No sweet_pea I am one that as soon as I get it I have to, just have to wear it. LOL. It was this way since I was very young that even if it meant wear to hang around the house.
I must admit, I may wear it once but I do not give my clothing away, because I like to at some point mix and match. But as soon as I get a new outfit, snip with the scissors and I just have to wear it.
I once told someone that why save it, if I wanted to save it I would have left it at the store. LOL

Yeah, it really is a waste. Buying something and then not using it for its purpose.
I don't really shop a lot. I'm a picky shopper when it comes to clothes. But it really sucks when you took time to pick and when you finally take it home and our preference suddenly changed. You don't want to wear it. It is really difficult to be a woman sometimes.

Yes, i do have some special clothes that i bought and have only worn once. They are just there on my cabinet, waiting to be worn on some occasions.
I also have bought t-shirts which i have worn for once and realized i don't look good on them, so they are just in my cabinet. But i would soon be giving them to my sisters.
For those pants that i don't wear anymore, i cut them and use them as shorts , for use at home.

Oh I also do that too with the pants! If I really like it, I turn it into shorts.
It is human nature for women to change their mind so easily.
Well we initially like it at first. Give it some time, then we won't like it anymore.

It is really nice to shop, specially if you really like the ones you buy without having regrets of ever buying it. My last shopping was quite successful. I really like the shirts that I bought. I doubt if I'll ever have to give it away.
