Ooops, it is not what you think!
The priest I am talking about is Fr. Ben, a relatively young priest who takes his Catholic duties to heart. He was, last Sunday, preaching about the Power of Love, the only power that is inherent to all of us. He was explaining that there are only a couple of priest, in our present clergy, who has the power to perform exorcism, a handful who has the power to heal, and he thought that his only power was to talk, until he realized that all the childless couples who went to him for spiritual guidance, come back nine months after to show him their bundles of joy! Gosh, he thought, he has the power to get a barren? woman pregnant.

No question about it, a child is always a blessing from God. But remember the story of Sarah and Abraham, they had no child, and one day, when Sarah was already old, God sent His angels to bring them the good news that Sarah will conceive and bear a child. Somehow, God allows instruments so His Will does come true.

Hello eileen I remember that story of old Sarah and Abraham no question about it because not Sarah but Abraham has great faith to God, remember Sarah laughed when she heard about the news and said she is barren and old impossible to concieve a child - but nothing impossible to God right. Miracle of God is for all of us who have faith to Him regardless God using to convey such message of miracle... see you around

I just currious because you mentioned "all the childless couples who went to him" after nine months with joy because they are pregnant. If you confirm those ALL COUPLES came back are pregnant that is a big miracles for them. But I just point out to you this Fr. Ben you said was just an instrument to be done such miracle not from his power... only God can do such thing through him... see you around

He said something like that, yes. I will ask him exactly how many when I see him again, hopefully next Sunday. He is a visiting priest.

Last Sunday was the first time I saw him. I think though that he is not a snob. He lingered and mingled with the children who came up to him for his blessings.

Hiya eileen,
Faith can move mountains that is for sure. Suppose talking to someone like Ben for long enough is a good thing as it reinforces their own faith even more.
Having this kind of faith themselves I think can make things like this happen. Not sure how it happens and why just am certain that it does happen.
No one I know has ever had a Baby like this but I do believe in it yes. The same way that people who are very ill can suddenly be cured I have heard of one of those.

I was thinking that Fr. Ben must be genuinely sincere in praying for the couples. That is why his prayers were always granted.

Hiya eileen,
He must be sincere I think like you say. I mean I donĀ“t know him but his Prayers certainly seem to get results like you say as they are being granted.
He must be quite a person too in his own way.
Again I think faith and prayer can move any obstacle out of the way if so needed.

I guess, those priest are just mediums, it's all because of the faith that we have that makes our dreams and wishes to come true. God heals and provides if only we call on Him, He's indeed the most powerful.

The priests are apostles to me. They guide us and assist us. I actually admire many of them who, after ordination, were sent on missions to the remotest places, with only a spare shirt, the Bible and the crucifix in their bag...

I'm not pointing my finger who is the priest or apostles to you, everyone of us are possible to use or be an instrument of God to convey His power and miracle to their people - only I know God want to serve the purpose and will to those woman. Are those woman couples comeback with joy or just one couple - I remember the 10 virgins in the bible.

I did not know priests have these powers... maybe I should become a priest as well right?
As I understand the Christian faith, the power comes from God. Priests, prophets are just the instruments for the will of the Lord to become manifest on earth through faith.
Some call it power, some call it gift, I prefer calling. Then again, shouldn't any member of the clergy be able to make god's will manifest on earth by their faith?
And reading from your post, it appears that he is the only one declaring this right? In the vernacular "nagbubuhat ng bangko?" Is there an article on this we can read for a better take on the subject?

shattered, you will know if God is calling you. If you are chosen, you cannot escape.
Fr. Ben was not boasting at all. He was delivering his sermon when he mentioned it, zestfully! After the mass, he took time to carry babies. I think he genuinely loves children.

I'd like to agree with you that you cannot escape your calling but then again I would have to disagree. Wouldn't that violate the free will we were given when we were created?
I'm glad to here he was not boasting. That's why I was asking if there was an article on it to get a better grasp of the issue.

Dear friend,
In India few priests has been caught by the people and under law as they tried to make pregnant women. But situation there is far better. Hope no more couples will there without child. Anyhow it the couple's choice whether to have child or not. But being a mother I hope is something much close to God. Moreover I feel giving birth is something precious part of life.

That is a wonderful gift to be able to give to couples that would like to have children that have not had any luck so far. I think that for people that are trying to conceive it is important to be able to have spiritual guidance because of the fact that there are times that people stress themselves too much about the difficulties that they experience in getting pregnant and that is the reason that they have a hard time getting pregnant.

Hi Eileenleyva. There is no one on this earth that can get a woman pregnant unless it is Gods will that the woman have a child. The only one that has power to heal is God. Us humans can only do what God see's fit for us to do. I don't know of anyone that can make anyone any better if it isn't Gods will.

A person's healing is always God's prerogative. If God doesn't want that person to get well, he will not get well. But we can ask our Creator, and beg, and pray. And we must, even in our most trying moments, do our very best to keep our bodies, the Temple of the Holy Spirit, well and good. That is why medical doctors try to cure us. That is why there is a saying Do your best and God will take care of the rest!

I don't trust such power of talks because if talk does work, there won't be a need for action. People attending such talks are there for personal assurance that there's nothing wrong with them. When it works, it's more of a concidence than the power of talk. Older generations might believe in that but definitely not me. I'm not superstitious in that area.

Hi,
Before reading this message I thought it is a true story, anyway what a great power since barren women are blessed through him.
