Have you experienced an Induced Labour? If so what was your experience like? I am booked in next week for an induction, that's if I don't go into labour on my own by then.. I have had two natural births which were very quick. I'm anxious of course of what to expect this time around.. I look forward to hearing your stories.

I had an induced labor but I have never experienced a normal labor so I really couldn't tell the difference between the two but I can tell you my experience. I had an IV and the doctor put oxytocin there. I started getting contractions after a few minutes and the pain was increasing every hour. I walked down the aisle of the hospital corridor and stopped only when the pain was unbearable. The doctor told me that induced labor pain is so much more painful than the normal ones but it was my first time so I really can't compare. I gave birth after 5 hours when they started to induce me but I stayed in the delivery room for only 30 minutes. Don't be scared! Induced labor is not that bad.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I was told by a lady that had experienced both natural and induced that it was more stronger and painful contractions being induced. As long as baby arrives safely I'm sure I'll cope.

My experience...pinklily, between natural and induced labour, is that the induced contractions come on faster...and reach birthing intesity faster. Everything just happens faster, so it seems more painful! Both forms, you have to reach a certain dilation before birth...and it just happens faster.."slow, agonizing pain..versus fast intense pain"...the pain level in the end is the same. Do not fear, intense but a shorter period of time. Good luck..and a big WELCOME to your new little Angel!

Thank You so much for your response pergammano... I had quick labours with my previous natural births, so I geuss if I make it till being induced than it will be even more quicker..A Good thing and being at the hospital is Great to have help and pain relief at hand, instead of waiting for the right time at home.. Not Long to go... I'm Very Excited....

I only remember some of the details that happened to me 7 years ago this coming May. My son was born 1 week late. I was induced into labor but that didn't work so final since I couldn't stop screaming and my son couldn't breath finally the doctor asked me if they could do a c-section. I said yes if it will save my baby. So they did one and I got to see him a hour later when i could finally move and they took me to my room and brought my beautiful baby boy to me. I hated the whole experience. My body wasn't ready to have the baby. I came in cause the doc said to cause they wouldn't go over a 1 week late. I told them I got a brother and a sister and the 3 of us were 3 weeks late. She says they don't allow that policy anymore. I couldn't believe they tried to force me to go in labor and it didn't work. I was in so much pain for hours that's why they finally had to do a c-section so my baby wouldn't die.

You poor thing Lizzyt, that sounds like abad experience. That was my main concern being forced into labour meant my body wasn't naturally ready.. The lady in the room with me was induced as she had dilated but had stopped contractions, then 12 hours later she had her daughter. I am so glad I went into labour naturally.

Hi, I never have an induced labour before, for me, I gave birth to my son after the Expected Date of Delivery (edd). I was late for 2 days and I was having a c-section. At first, I opt for normal delivery, but due to the tiredness and pain of contraction, last minute I opt for c-section. Within half an hour, my son has came to this world. Till now, I still feel scary when going to labour room. My first experience stepping into the labour room was always in my mind. When I saw the nurses preparing the necessary equipment used for labouring, I was so scared. My heart was beating fast and I felt uncomfortable waiting for the right time to give birth.

It is a daunting experience - giving birth. Especially awaiting the anticipation if it all. Not knowing when and where labour could start and if you've had a bad experience before doesn't help..

I was in the process of natural birth when i laid my baby out, but on the process, i had the hard time of pushing her out, that's when the midwife called for induce, and then suddenly, i felt like there's a force that pushed my baby out without my effort, and that i thought the medicine had helped me.
