Are you blessed that Spaniards went here in the Philippines to colonize and intergrate us for how many years and then, shared with us their values, religion and traditions instead of our own original values, religion and traditions like paganisms, Muslims and animisms? These are our own religions. Women and men were both separated during Spanish regime. Women were not allowed to work. They stayed at home while men were allowed to work. Those strict priests that were teachers taught their students how to read and write, and those priests were very strict. Women were been discriminated during the Spanish colonization and they were not free at all. Many Filipino citizens included Jose Rizal did not like the type of government during the Spanish colonization and now, we inherit some of the values, religion and traditions from the Spaniards, and even in politics and in church. I mean, some of them so, are you blessed that Spaniards went here in the Philippines or do you have this big regret that we were been colonized by the Spaniards here in the Philippines?

Shy, what about China, the Chinese brought us opium and smoking? What about the Arabs who taught us to be vindictive? What about the Indians who brought us 5-6? No country can be blamed for the deterioration of a nation. Only the people who would allow themselves to be used are the guilty ones.

Actually i cannot pick one side or the other side because Spaniards are contributed to Philippines a lots of things and admit that some are not good. If they are not came we don't know where we are may we are all muslim or still pagan. There are advantages and dis-advantages during that era. We learn from that past and note there are many heroes noted from that era... see you around

I want to add more, gambling, being lazy and the maniana habit (later on habit or putting off tomorrow what can be done today)
Fiestas, festivals that costs or even lead people to credit/borrow money for lavish occasions.
I can't think of goodness Spaniards ever brought to us,not to mention that they make our ancestors slaves in our very own land.

For me, the label of a blessing is kinda partisan. I would rather be excited in participating if we are discussing the good and bad points of the people who colonize our countries. Let's face it, every foreigner that stepped in our shores have given us good and bad things. If we can learn from the bad values and keep the good ones, why should be blessed or consider the bad influences brought to us as a curse? I know that there are not so good things that happened in the past courtesy of these people (particularly the Spanish becuase we endured them for so long) and sometimes we can't help but wonder if they just went lost long ago and never found us. I just like to say that we are now free - free to do things on our own. why worry about the past if we can do something great for the future?

hi, I think that is all part of history now and there is nothing we can do about it anymore, Spanish colonization and her influences had become an integral part of our culture and as a people in whole. I think we should look forward to the future, armed with what we are and what we learned from the past.

I think that there is just so little that we can do about this. Our country has been so adaptive. We just have so many influences for the past centuries. I just hope that we respect our origins. There is just so much prejudice especially in religion. Let us just be fair and show respect for the other. Change can be good. We just need to still recognize our roots.
