Are humans evil or just born to survive?

This question may seem confusing. We all make mistakes and at some points in life do "evil" things. Whether it be out of revenge or immaturity or fazes in our lives. When the things we do are pulled apart, analyzed piece by piece most of the bad things we do we do because of our instinct to survive. Things like jealousy. The are a natural part of our human mind. Knowing about how we act just because of our instincts has made my life a whole lot more understandable. I think I could forgive anyone now when I try to understand their side and what they may be trying to protect. I guess that is why I have so much trouble hating. It feels so good to forgive. To say hey I know you were just trying to survive. Sometimes we just get in each others way I guess.
So do you think there is a such thing as an evil person? Or do you think everyone has done things for reasons, and made mistakes and should have the right to be forgiven?
I believe our lives lead us in a certain direction but only we decide which turns to make, which way to go at the forks in the road.

Man is born with original sin. As a child grew up he/she would do bad things unconsiously and we as adult should guide him/her and correct the bad doings until such time that he/she will have the mature thinking to choose what is right from wrong.

We humans are born as blank as a clean sheet of paper. Good and evil is a part of the story we sheets of paper had to contain for it is in nature. We write our stories influenced by the experiences that we learn from and also from the people who surrounds and molds us into how they see the world. The right question is, what side would you take?

My favorite quote about this is 'People are neither good or bad, just silly.' People do everything they do because of the past experiences and personal beliefs. People who consider themselves evil believe their behavior keeps them safe from what they see as danger. If the society doesn't see the danger they see, we consider them evil. How we learn to understand the world from our emotional experience creates that belief system. That belief system determines our behavior. Very few of our human behaviors are instinctual. Jealosy certainly isn't one of them.
