Do you find what you do on the computer productive?

I'm one of those people who like many of you, spend far too long on computer, but do you think spending so much time is gaining skills or should be seen as wasted?
Having worked in an office in the past, I found the ability to touch type put me way ahead of others. Yet I'm not sure how playing computer games can be deemed helpful ;)
What do you think? Helpful or a waste of time?

Sometimes I waste too much time online. I need to learn to work smarter and not harder when I am online because the internet is a source of income for me and my ultimate goal is to work from home full time but I don't want to be on all day working for pennies like I am now. I need to find a system that will help me be more efficient and help me generate the most income at the same time. If anyone have any ideas on how to do that I'd really appreciate it.
