Hi mylotters,I was wondering if anyone feels the same as me i am mum to 5 kids ages 11-19 and also have a hubby, now in my house its like i am constantly relied on to be everyone brain, memory its always "have you seen my car keys" now considering i dont drive 9 times out of 10 i will no where they are as in picked them them as they were left on sofe etc so i put them on the key rack where they should have been put anyway grrrr this is the same for clothing, wallets, bus passes, letters etc i dont want to sound petty but without me there lives would be chaos i have tried saying to them that the things are their own responsibility and they should keep them where they can find them but its not going well.On a few occasions i have left there things and told them to backtrack to when they last had it but sometimes it is not where i last saw it and then its manic trying to locate it and causes fustration for us all to help find it!anyone feel the same and suggestions?

Hi,
it is not easy to be a mother of 5 kids at home. I believe with
5 kids at home, your house must have plenty of things. Each of your kid
will have their own belongings and they need to have their own space.
So you need to get them organized their things well at the
right place.
Give them a separate rooms and cabinets to store their things and
always advise them to place their things back to the correct places.
By getting them organized well, there won't be any hassle again in future
to find any lose things.
I like to get my things organized well, I buy those drawers and sort
my things nicely, put some label on it,so that it give me easier to find
things that I need in future.

I've told my son to do his own things by himself since he had the physical ability, such as washing clothes or shoes, mopping his room, packing or even cooking etc. When he is about to catch a bus to go to school,I just remind him if he wrapped all his things,I never do all those things for him.

When my kids aged 3 i started to teach them to be organized with their own things.
I teach them where to put their toys after they've played with it.
And that was a great help now that they've grown ups.
I have 3 kids aged 17,15 and 12.
Has their own rooms and their belongings as their responsibility.
I also have them disciplined that...if they don't know where to put things on it's place...do not asks me,but try to look the trash bin.
So,they are always keen to put things on it's proper place.
Have a great weekend

Firstly congrats on the Five wonderful children!
I often wondered if when the word/name mom was invented if it really meant I need you, lol.. It seems that eventually it lessens but they will always phone you and say mom where is, lol...
It is never ending and yes I live with my boyfriend now for 5 years and it does not matter what I am doing, because he will call upon me as to where his keys, socks, etc are, the only difference is that he calls me doll and not mom. lol
