So I joined sidetick yesterday and I got excited about how well they pay and was thrilled to use it until I read there rules and agreement. Apparently they won't pay until you provide them with you SSN, sketchy? Anyways they also wrote whatever you post will own to sidetick. Also if something bad happens when you use sidetick its not their problem. This got me thinking and I decided to delete account for my own safety. What do you think about this?

Hello gatorgurlm and welcome to myLot.
I am a member of sidetick and although not pleased with the recent changes, I can assure it is not a scam, because I received another happy payment today for $25, simply for answering a blog question daily.
As for the social security number request, surely you do understand that in the US they need to protect themselves because anyone generating $600 or more in a given year is required to claim taxes.
At any rate this site has given me many, and I mean many happy payments for virtually not exerting too much effort and of of course you have to be satisfied with your decisions because ultimately it is yours.
But if you are basing any site with the fact that they requires socials then you will be running out of options because as per the US laws it is a requirement.
Best of luck to you with all your online earnings.

Since its a social networking site, I feel they are trying to gather information of people that join their site. Anyways whenever you update your status your saying what your doing, also if you have your full name and personal info then your giving away information, also if your providing your SSN they can track you down. I feel the only reason I'm skeptical about providing my SSN is because its a social networking site.

But it is an earning social network site not just an ordinary networking site like facebook, right?? This is their reasoning, see they too have to account for taxes and when they are paying out money they have to be sure they can make their taxable deductions.
If you are from the US like me then essentially you only need to worry if you are making more then $600 per year. I do so I am not concerned because I do pay my taxes. best of luck to you and hope all earnings are great ones for you.

I guess I'm a little paranoid about identity theft since we hear it so much around. I just don't want sidetick to be some kind of scam

I thought it was a great site for earning money and was surprised by how high they pay, so I read the Terms & Agreements and thought it was a little sketchy they needed the SSN after collecting a ton of information to begin with
