I was a hippy chick way back in the 60's. I wore peace sign earrings and necklaces, naru jackets and was listening to the Stones when they were young. Ya, it's been awhile. But something that has stayed with me is the word 'peace'. I have a collection of peace signs. A mere five letter word meaning mutual harmony, an agreement, or to end hostilities. I think of peace of mind, a world of peace, a moment of peace, etc. What does this fine word 'peace' bring to you?

The same thing really, but peace always conjures up images of 60's and 70's Hippies for me aswell as I was born in the Eighties, but I still like to think of myself as very much a hippy. Although nowadays it seems like peace is very far away in any form for most of us. Fazel

Too far away from us all it seems. I wish the hippy culture would come back like it was in the 60's and 70's. It is as if it is just the opposite now.

I wish that too. Sometimes I wish I was born in the 60's or 70's and that time would stop. My best friend is a bit of a hippy too and the only way she can relive her hippy roots is to go to Glastonbury...One day I will go there too.

A wish that everyone was at peace. A hope that more schools with children from all different races, religions, etc. will be able to go to school together and find out that we all have similar wants, needs, desires, dreams, etc. There is at least one international childredn's school in the USA like that and there is one in Israel. There needs to be one in every country. Take care

hi celticeagle mywhole response just flew off.As a widow who escaped a bad fall with only two injuries a broken beak and a twisted knee I feel peace today meant not having to take but one pain pill today. so I am finally starting to really heal and thats peace for me.peace of mine.peace can also stand for ceasing of war and people agreeing on peaceful coexistence.

Peace mean so many things. Inner peace...an understanding of who I want to be and what the heck I am supposed to be doing with myself would be nice. I just can;t figure it out but I am constantly driven. Sometimes driven isn't so nice. Hmm...peace...not having to worry about home invasions and the fact that the crime rate here is stupid high for such a small place. Honestly it makes the chances of me or mine greater for being a victim. A spring morning..sleeping in and waking up..breeze dancing across my cheek as I turn to the light. Covered amd cozy...nothing that has to be done right away.

Inner peace, my friend, is very important. Being constantly driven isn't always feeling inner peace. I think sometimes it is like having demons chasing after me. True inner peace is feeling driven because you have a love for what you are doing. I hope that is what you are feeling. You are only a victim if you let yourself be. I truly believe that. The one time you forget or don't what you need to to remain safe then you can become a victim. Habitual behavior is very important. I try to get my kids to put things in the same place so they don't lose things. Such as that is important in this day of crime and jerks abounding.Don't want things to get in the wrong hands. Keep your family in the know as to where you are too is important. I used to get so tired of my mom wanting me to check in with her periodically until finally she told me why she was so obcessed with my safety. We lived in an area where some young girls had been obducted, brutalized and peices of their bodies strone along a certain area of the Indian Reservation. Made me sick but I understood then why my mom would rather have me upset and ugly with her and have me safe. Gheez, I do tend to run on don't I? But I do understand doing what you have to do to be safe. Your last few lines of your peace sounds pretty good. Hope it is everlasting for you.

I think of "peace of mind" a lot. I think this is the fundamental thing an individual should work on to achieve peace on earth. Also, I think 'peace' means different meaning to so many people... which makes world peace difficult.
