The end of the World or new beginnings?

Since the beginning of this year, we have seen, via news footage and the media, uprisings, demonstrations and protests across the Middle East and North Africa, resulting in regime change for some.
We have seen an earthquake in New Zealand and today an earthquake and tsunami hitting Japan. We are only two and a half months into 2011.
According to Mayan predictions, prophecies, calendar, etc. the World will end on 21st December 2012. Is this the beginning of the end?
Of course the end of the World doesn't mean destruction of the Earth maybe it just means change and new beginnings.
What are your thoughts on the Mayan prophecies?
Do you see World politics and landscapes changing and new beginnings for our planet?

If we focus on the problems and crisis these days we will be down and scared. But if focus on God worship Him and exalt Him in our lives we can see splendor and light. :)

Amen to that. You are right. If we focus on what we see around us, we would all get scared. People are jobless, there will be more robbery, burglary and theft if the economy keeps on going on like this. It would mean that people would hurt more people. I see more homeless people roaming the streets and more people begging for money and food. We have to focus on the positive and not on the negative. If you focus on the negative, it will always bring you down, but if you focus on the positive this will lift you up. Getting to know God is one, dancing, singing karaoke, try to become a business owner by joining amway to make extra monies. This is positive. Tying an hour on mylot is good too. :-)

Hello LeighB! I live in Mexico, and I don´t believe in the Mayan Prophecies =(. But, I do believe the world needs a change, the world is in crisis, in everyway, and this means that we all most work and help to amend Our World. Blessings!... Dainy

Hi LeighB, It says it all in the bible. Everything that is going on right now. The earthquakes and tsunami. Didn't it say something about parts of the earth will be under water. Only Jesus knows if it's the end or the beginning. Did we mess the earth up so bad that he wants to start over and try again. There's always going to be ?????

Hi sterra,
Throughout history, there have been a lot of prophecies about the World coming to an end...Nostradamus, the Mayans, the Bible, the Qur'an, etc. all of them seem to have different dates and different ways the Earth will be destroyed. I think it will be eventually down to man, as we take too much natural resourches out of the Earth and put nothing back.

Everyone has had their ideas, notions and beliefs throughout history, but has there ever been any proof to any of them. Some believe in Egyptology, others the Mayan prophecies and then there is Nostradamus. If one listens to all these historical writings one might as well just give up and stop living now.

Ever since I can remember, mother nature has been pouring her wrath all over the world. Calamities and disaster has always affected the world. Be it the USA, Japan, Philippines, Turkey, India, etc. It is not the beginning of the end. It is always going to be an on going thing...no end to it. People always say, "Oh, the end of the world is coming in 2012." I don't believe so. The interpretations are wrong. They read it literally. Sometimes things happen in parables. God created the earth for us, humans to live in. If God destroys the world, where would we all go? We cannot all stay in heaven. There is a GOD, and he loves all of us. I do not think he will kill all of us because the world is going to end. If that happens, then I do not think that there is a God. SATAN because he said, "he owns the world." Yes, he is the only kind of evil that might think this way and make it happen.

Yeah, I don't see it as the end of the World, more new beginnings. Throughout history there have always been the end of one situation/way of life and the beginning of another. I see it more as new technology taking over how things are done and a new way that leaders run their countries, rather than the Earth just exploding into pieces.
