Wow, can't believe this happened right here. At news we see the number of missing people raising all the time. I was so sad last night, so many people must have lost their beloved ones...
There is fire that never ends and I saw live on TV people being taken by the Tsunami. As the earthquake happened in the coast they didn't even had a chance to run from the Tsunami...
Sad day for us in Japan.
A red day.

Katie, my heartfelt condolences to Japan. We were all shocked by it. I don't often watch TV, it was my brother who phoned me and told me about it. I was so shocked. Never occurred to me it would happen so soon (I had expected it as I had learned about it, and such a thing would happen in another place, sooner or later). I'm so happy to learn you can still get in touch with us here. I can never understand how the people there, especially the victims, manage the harsh winter. Winter's made it more difficult. I and my wife are sending you all reiki energy for empowerment. We want to do something. I hope you and your loved ones are well and coping well and getting stronger in this. We, the rest of the world, must prepare for the worst. There have been too many a natural disaster--Japan tsunami, Haiti and New Zealand earthquakes, Aceh tsunami--that we should not ignore. What makes us, those who aren't touched by such terrible disasters, so special that we will be spared from them. We can never be sure of that. We are all the same. We get empowerment in dealing with disaster by our helping each other--no matter how far away our places are--for example through this kind of forum. Stay safe, Katie and loved ones.

I have been watching it on CNN. They got some of the earthquake on video. It is sad to see such a devastation. I too feel the loss of human life and I wonder about my college friend that lived in Japan if she made it through. The best I can do is pray for the country. They need all the help and prayers they can get right now.

I am SO VERY SORRY for what is happening in Japan. It breaks my heart to see it on TV.
What can I do to help? Are you and your loved ones safe?

It is very sad to see this devastation. I had not realised that you lived in Japan. It must be horrible there right now. I have a friend from here in Australia that is working there teaching English at the moment and just the very day before this happened I was looking at another friends photos from his trip that he just returned from. He was in Japan for a couple of weeks.
There is a very big Japanese community in my city and I have known a few of them over the years. Japanese are very nice people and do not deserve this to be happening. I can only hope that there are no aftershocks and that they get this nuclear thing sorted without any major catastrophe.

BE still because God knows exactly what is happening. If you are His, you will not be forsaken. God is our refuge and strength. Keep safe. God bless you. :)

Hi Katie,
I have heard the news of the earthquake in Japan and the tsunami that followed. I feel very sorry for all the people the lost their lives and the ones that lost their loved ones. None of them had a chance to get away from what was about to hit them. It is a very sad time for the whole of Japan and the news has spread worldwide. Sometimes Mother Nature can be very cruel and this saddens me a lot. Good luck the people in Japan that had their home wreaked in the earthquake. Recently New Zealand suffered an earthquake so I am wondering what is happening in the world at the moment.

I am watching the videos of the tsunami on Anderson Cooper 360 right now. This is, to say the least, a major disaster. I am sure that aid is on the way. It sometimes takes a while to come up with plans and put them into action, but I am sure the U.S. (and other countries) will be sending help. I think the main threat right now could be those nuclear power plants that are having trouble cooling their reactors. If those things explode, the nuclear fall-out they will cause is going to be a much more serious threat than anything the tsunami has caused so far, because that radiation will likely be spread hundreds of miles by the weather patterns in the area. We are praying for everyone affected by this disaster. How far are you from the affected areas?

That is a very unfortunate event. I saw it in the news earlier, the vehicles and structures are being washed out like legos down the river. I really pity those at loss there.

My heart truly pours out to the victims of the calamities starting from New Zealand and Japan, and now, there's this scare of the earthquakes and tsunamis hitting our country.
These calamities, they also show us that we are all equals in the eyes of nature. We can all be hurt regardless of race or economic stature.

I saw the news on Tv. I am very sorry to see it and I hope that even though something like that happened, people in Japan will be okay. I know prayers cant change anything that happened in there but at least I hope with prayers people there will feel comforted and they will also have peace.
