How can I get more followers in twitter?

As we all know twitter has now become teh most preferable for advertising I want number of followers to me so that i can promote my web site through twitter.
Can any one suggest me how to get more followers in twitter?

Hi! I'm on twitter as well and I am using a site called Twiends to get more followers! It's easy to use, you have to follow people whose credits are 3 and up, and you will get credits as well which you will use to promote your account on twitter so people will follow you! Try it.

It's simple, just create an account, it'll be linked with your twitter account, then you'll find a list of people with "seeds", when you follow someone you earn seeds from them and vice versa when they follow you. You can decide how many seeds you want to offer per follow, and when you run out you remain on the list so people can still follow you if they like. Personally, I only follow people with 3 or more seeds and i've set my seeds to 3 now I get more followers than people to follow. Hope this helps!

First, connect your Twitter account on your facebook account, you can do it by adjusting your settings that is mainly located at the top right of your Twitter page. Once your twitter is connected to your facebook account, it will be easy for you to attract followers by just posting eye catching tweets (words of wisdo, encouragement, hot news) one at a time, and then adding "follow me on twitter @ (your username)" at the end of the line. That is, everytime you tweet something, it will also be posted and seen on your facebook wall and obviously can be seen by all of your Facebook friends. and that's it! once they see your post and discover that you have a sense of witty, they will follow you, and maybe request to follow them back. Twitter-Facebook method :) hope that helps! :)

Post something that's useful or informative. As long as you're posting something interesting to others you'll acquire and maintain followers. As for getting them, just announce your twitter username to every forum or networking site you're a member at.

Tweet a lot of various, interesting things you like. Follow people who follow back, and make sure that you follow back as well. If you tweet stuff people like, you will automatically get more followers. And of course, one word: Hashtags.

If your account is very new, then follow users, who will follow you back. Then post quality and useful tweets that are possible to be retweeted. Don't use programs that promise you a lot of followers. Twitter will ban you if you are mass following and mass deleting those who you are following.
My list of followers is growing virally, I have new ones every day without doing anything but tweeting.
