Why these disasters happen

So far, this is my first discussion to start. So good luck to me I guess.. :)
Well, just yesterday a disaster happened in Japan and made us all shocked and have sympathy for that country. It also made other countries became alarmed for tsunamis and really made me feel afraid because Philippines, my home, is included.
And with these kind of happenings, prayer is the best way to at least save us from these disasters and make disasters become less devastating.
Now, there is an explanation in the bible that I have read why these natural disasters happen...
It is written in Job 9:5 (King James Version),
"Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overtuneth them in His anger". To make it clearer, let's read it in the New International Readers Version, it says, "He(God) moves mountains, and they don't even know it. When he is angry, he turns them upside down."
After reading this, I understand then why there are earthquakes--it is because of God's anger.
And I was surprised when I read another verse which tells about tsunamis.
It is written here in the book of Amos 9:6(King James Version), it says,
"It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: the LORD is his name."
Kind of surprising, but these are really written in the bible. I know there are scientific explanations about these calamities, but yes, the bible has explanations too. :)
So, what are your views for this dear mylotters? :)

Do you think the God send the flood to wash out the humanity and rebuild the Earth itself. Because we human commit too much sins, and needed be punished, or taught a lesson. Or maybe God lost faith in people already? I don't believe all these though. I would rather consider the Earth is in a process of changing its normal track. God knows, what would happen next.

I believe God did these for purpose. And I don't blame Him, because He is a good God. He does it for good.
Yeah, Earth is changing. I agree with you. And I guess we should just pray for safety and be prepared for what might happen next. :)

if you do read bible,it also says that all the unexplainable disasters today all over the world are the signs that Jesus is coming back. Prayer is not enough now a days,we need to act and be sensitive to what GOD wants us to do.He wants us to serve him and prioritize him over above anything in this world and obey his rules and not our instinct of liking, do not resist what he wants for us to follow
just like what Jesus did who just accepted his fate for he knew he must trust HIM.DO NOT UNDER ESTIMATE what's going on , be watchful and patient-for the time of Jesus comes unexpectedly.

No amount of prayer or anything else can save anyone from a natural disaster because that's just how the earth works. Earthquakes, typhoons, fires, floods etc have been happening since the earth began and will continue until man is no longer here. That's just how it is.
It has nothing to do with "God" being angry. People are building skyscrapers instead of one story buildings so it's going to seem more devastating and more people get killed because of it.
It's man's doing not "God." Man is polluting the earth and changing the landscape, digging big holes in the earth, cutting down huge forests the size of small countries. Man is changing the ecosystem and the earth to suit their wants.

I agree...we all should be prepared of the movements of the earth. It is expected that countries beyond the trench line will expect shaking when the plates moves. God did'nt created us to suffer, instead He created us to enjoy His creation.

Well, yes, it's man's fault basically. But I believe that God has reasons for these things. And well, I just laid the verse saying that it is God's angry, but of course, I am not here to make you believe in it. Also, it is not just God's wrath. I forgot to add in my discussion that it is not just God's anger, but also, one reason is here in Romans 8:28 saying "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to purpose"..
Amyway thanks for your views.. ;)

Where I live it didn't shake that much and I wonder these things are happening and if it's going to increase in 2012. It seems a response for what we've been doing to nature, it's like it's all coming back now, I don't know if earthquakes apply in this case but it seems everything is happening at once now.

Good thing that you are perfectly safe from where you are.
And we can't tell for now what will happen in the next few days, or weeks, or months.
All I can be sure of is that it's gonna be worse. How can I tell? Well, because it has started already, so it's gonna be worse I guess. All we can do is prepare now, think why these happened, think why did God make these happen, and pray that we somehow could feel and find the answers to those questions. :)

Hello there Ms.Catch, :P
Thank you for that warm and BIG welcome for me. :P
Well I guess you are somehow right that this is a place where I can have enemies. :P
Now, about what you have just shared, I agree with you.
These are bound to happen because it has a good reason and a good purpose because God is a good God. He is kind and he wants only good for us people. But for us to get his good message, these happenings must be done. Sad to say that it even cost many lives but just keep in my mind that it has a good reason behind. :)
Anyways, thank you for your views. And it's pretty good to know that even though you are not that religious kind of person, still, you believe in God, and you believe that these disasters happened for a purpose... :)
I pray you will always have a great day... :)

Hi there angel.
It was very alarming actually especially about the news alert of tsunami going to hit Philippines. I was just relieved that our country wasn't hit that strong unlike other countries. I wasn't actually kind of surprised about the events that is happening around the world recently because it has been prophesied in the Bible that these things will have to come to pass and needs to come to pass. There's nothing much we can do but pray and be prepared. No one knows how long or how near we are already but I do know that Christ is our refuge and our fortress.
Good to share these thoughts with you.
Good luck as well for your first discussion. :)

Yes I see that you are really serious this time as everybody should be serious about it. We should increase more our faith everyday. We should just be prepared everyday.
Well I see that your first discussion is really relevant and I'm looking forward to have more discussions from you. Take care.

Just want to add some thoughts again here that looking at the situation Japan has just been an example and a reminder to us all that technology can't spare us no matter how advance it was. We all know that Japan's infrastructures are solidly built and mostly are quake proof but look at what happened. This is to show and remind us that we can never be comfortable with the things that are built here on this earth. Nothing could spare us and there's no safer place than to be in the hands of God.
Many couldn't admit it because many are unprepared and uncertain of their security to whatever may happen.
Have a nice day.

Hello there buddy. ;)
Yeah, thank God that our country is not that affected. But we still have to pray for the better. :)
Seems like I am serious now, yeah, deeply serious nowadays. Well, mainly because of these happenings recently.
And I agree with you that all these must come to pass. All these are just the beginning of the great sorrow. We must be prepared and have faith in God.
And thanks buddy for making me feel not that nervous with this first discussion I started. :P

hello angel,
This is to remind the human race that there is power beyond those minds of people who always think that natural calamities are just normally caused by this and that (technology/science experts says)
But...those experts can't even explain the real reasons of these disaster/calamities as well as to prevent or even detect when and where calamities ever gonna happen.
GOD Bless the humankind

You look familiar, do I know you? Have we met before? :)
Well, I agree with you. :)
I feel sympathy to those people who just explain these things as simple as "it is natural".
I hope they can somehow think that there are reasons beyond what they think.
Have a nice day jaiho! :P

Hi,
I got to know about this disaster news from my
brother 15 mins after the incident. he saw the news on
TV and faster give me a call and inform me. I was shocked and
I quickly online to get more information. I saw some u-tube video showing
how the big wave with debris, cars, boats came to sweep all the houses, even
the airport was gone. And till now, there is still no fix number on how many
victims from this disaster. and lot of missing victims.
Pray hard that Japan will leave in peace and harmony.
Hope this will over and never happen again.

You are just thinking of the disasters occurred - but just go reverse and think of the happiness on this earth.
Some are just misusing this by going against Mother Nature....
It is only the Creator who knows why these occur - of-course because of the developed minds as we call Scientist -who give their calculations and explain. But nothing works in front of the Creator.
World is getting modernized but under any circumstances the modernized world cannot understand the PLAY of the CREATOR.

My personal thoughts say that it is only the KARMA Which works out and in such disasters it is a Karma which works in totality.
I feel sorry for the disaster happened - we as humans have this limitations only.

Well yes, God knows why these happens. And God only wants good for us so it means that behind these disasters, there's something good from it that we don't see yet.
But I believe that in everything, God has good reason for it.
We must not forget that God knows what is the best for us.
Anyway, I feel sorry too for those people devastated by the recent calamities.. :(
But still, we must have faith that all these have purpose.
Thanks for your views.. :)

I think what is happening right now is a God's call to everyone of us. It's really shocking and frightening but all of these natural disasters that rocks our planets are all plans of God. So i guess people should be reminded that there is God, that he really exists. Let us be united in prayers. Time for repentance.
