Arsenal lose in the FA cup semi final against Manchester United two goals to nil. Manchester United maybe never dominating the game in terms of possession but once again Arsenal were taught a lesson in how important it is to take your chances in football which they failed to do especially with two or three clear cut chances in the closing stages .
How do you think Arsenal will react after now exiting three cup competitions in the last two weeks? Can they pick themselves up and improve to maybe get enough points to beat Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League .
I'm sorry to see Johann Djourous injury today as he's been a consistent performer since Arsenal lost Thomas Vermaelan to injury. Scholes lost the plot a bit towards the end of the game and as a United fan I can safely say he was very lucky not to be sent off for his moments of madness .

It was not the strongest line up for United but they did a job.
Van der Sar made several top class saves to keep United in it, and to prove to Wenger that to win trophies you do need a top quality keeper.
As for Arsenal, it's what we have come to expect. They play the best football in the EPL but come the business end of the season they always faulter.
They need a leader in the mould of Adams or Vieira, someone to dig deep and put in the hard, ugly yards for the team. Until this happens it'll always be the same. Always the bridesmaid never the bride.
As for United, after two defeats, this will hopefully give them confidence to push on and win some honours this season.

No it certainly wasn't the strongest line up for Manchester United but it ultimately worked well as a team system with Fabio and Rafael playing quite well on the wing and were quite unpredictable at times which suited Uniteds attacking stance this was my biggest surprise I think at how well they handled themselves in an unfamiliar role .
I do believe Arsenal would have beat Manchester United if they had Fabregas fit but they took the risk of playing him against Barcelona and essentially he suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury .
I'm not sure about your Adams or Viera comment though I think United lack the physical and big mental presence of a Patrick Veira or a Roy Keane and in terms of an Adams they have that in Vermaelan who's out injured. In Manchester Uniteds squad they have Vidic but real stand out leader similarly to Arsenal especially in todays game.
I do think this victory will lift United and really believe this defeat will hurt Arsenal cutting the morale levels to a big low with just one competition left for them to compete in especially with all the constant questions being asked of Arsenal in terms of can they be successful when it matters most and so far they haven't proved the doubters wrong and until they do the same questions will be asked for each year they fail to bring home any silverware. Who knows maybe next year will be Arsenals year, wait haven't we heard that before .

If Arsenal are to win something then they will need Fabregas. Do you think he'll be at arsenal next year, or do you think Barca will buy or even possibly Real.
I know he's a Barca lad and that's his dream move, but Real have the money and are argubuly the biggest club in the world. If they come calling it'll hard for him to turn them down.
I don't think Cesc will be an Arsenal player next year.

I seriously doubt he'll stay at Arsenal if they fail to secure the league somehow this season but I'm not sure about going to Real Madrid just yet as he's still quite young and moving to Real would effectively rule out any chance of ever moving to his boyhood/dream club so I think if he's to move it'll not be for Spain next season but I believe ultimately he'll end up with Barcelona . I do think next season would be too soon for him to move to Barcelona he'd be behind basically the whole of the Spannish starting line up with Xavi, Iniesta being ahead of him at least. I don't think it would be a wise career move for him, there's no point moving from being a leader at Arsenal to a bench warmer at Barcelona.
I hope he stays with Arsenal but then again I don't want Arsenal to win the league but I do think the Premier League will miss his talent. It seems to me that the Premier league in recent seasons have sold a lot of the more stand out players or they've been getting to the age where their close to retirement .

I feel sorry for any Arsenal fans who have to stick to watching their side falling apart at the crucial end of the season they missed out on a glorious opportunity in the Carling Cup against Birmingham then they slipped up against Barcelona and now they're left only with the league to fight for all this in a matter of two weeks .
I think the United victory will be very bad for their morale with United showing they can boss them about if they want as they know how to win games even if it requires playing ugly football . After all in football it's a result business and it doesn't matter how much attractive football you play as it guarantees you nothing in terms of silverware .

I think Arsenal have completely capitualted in recent weeks as they have done all too often in recent seasons. I do not believe they have what it takes to win the league and so yet agin they will have a barren season. How sad. I like to watch them play but I am so glad I am not an Arsenal fan because there lack of success must be so frustrating.
What was Scholsey thinking? He could easily have gone off and in fact was lucky not to have gone off. What is the point in being experienced if you are not going to use that experience?
I hope Djourous recovers quickly. Talking of injuries or more like recoveries Ramsay was back which was nice to see.

Yeah I agree Arsenals style of football is great on the eye but you need a balance of success matched with good football and at the minute the current Arsenal squad don't seem capable of achieving this, I doubt they will win the league this season with United being quite consistent winners even with out playing well or deserving some of their results .
Scholesy wasn't thinking that's jsut it . I'm sure Fergie had a bit of a word with him afterwards at least I hope he did, if he had of been sent of it wouldn't have mattered in this game but with United injuries at the minute Scholes is likely to be a prominent figure in the next couple of games.
Djourou is out for the season apparently a dislocated shoulder. As for Aaron Ramsey though he's been back and playing since January .
