Back from an operation

I'm back in myLot after spending some time in hospital. Nothing scary, I had my gall bladder removed. It was a laparoscopic operation so two days later I was kicked out from the hospital and back home. It's really wonderful - they make three little holes instead a big cut in your body and you have a quick recovery. But for me the challenge was to recover from the general anaesthesia. Three days after the operation I was still dazed. Now this is over but I have the strange feeling that I'm back from another world.
I wonder if this is a common experience after an operation.

fannita welcome back!
Sorry to hear about your surgery, gosh I hope it was not too painful. It is amazing today how what use to be major surgery now is a one and two fix. I do know someone who had it done the old way and had a large cut with lots of stitching.
I suppose after the anesthesia, especially if you are not use to narcotics it will leave you dazed out a bit. Although it was small incisions, do make sure you get plenty of rest and not force yourself too much because it still was the same concept of removing.
Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids and follow all of doctors orders.
Wishing you well.

Welcome home. Glad to hear that you're on the ammends.
As far as still feeling dazed and from another world, I don't know what to say about that. It's probably post operative but it may be a good idea to ask your physician.
Anyway, I hope you continue to recoop.

Welcome back to Mylot, it is good to have you back I am happy to hear that your operation went well. My grandmother had the same kind of operation as you and she was also able to leave the hospital after a few days. I have only had local anaesthesia when I had surgery, so I don't know if the things that you experienced after general anaesthesia are common or not. I hope that you will recover soon.

It's good to have you back at mylot with us. I hope you surgery went well and you are having a speedy recovery. I think that the effects of anesthesia affect all of us differently. If your condition persists, you might want to let your doctor know. Take care!
