Many people died, lost their homes and almost vanished everything in just one day. And dont know how to start their life again. Because of this devastating earthquake and tsunami. Do you think it will encourage people to turn from their wicked ways?

I don't think tragedies like this would change people although it would make them realize the importance of life. Sad to say even in the midst of these things there are still some people taking advantage of others in times like this. Also unfortunate is after a few months or years, people do forget these happenings and go back to their wicked ways.Old habits are hard to die as they say.

Yes I think they may! This is a good discussion Thereza! I think people won´t hurry into charity, but this will raise World awareness to take care of Our World, and to help the one that´s in need. Sure it will encourage people. Blessings!... Dainy

Hello Dainy!
Allow me first to say thank you that you liked my discussion. Ever since I received a news anywhere in the world even in my country that something happen or tragedies that affects many lives. I'm always praying that many people will learn and do goods from now on. And my fears are always rising for the innocent people that sometimes are the most affected. I hope even if its not related from what had happen because its natural or human error. I hope people will realize the importance of time, doing good, sharing and most of all prayer. I also hope that may God give us another chance and forgive us so we can start a better life again. God Bless!!

Those who realise the evil of their ways will change. But i can't say everyone who is bad will change for the good.To expect a change for the better on behalf of all who are evil due to a tsunami or earthquake is wishful thinking as several such disasters have come and gone without any great noticeable change in the behaviour of people at large.Change has to come from within and not due to external circumstances.

Did they change after Haiti? Indonesia?
Actually, I think it will make people turn wicked -- looting, stealing, fighting.

You look very disappointed! maybe some changed and some are not, But i'm still hoping and praying that this time it will make a good change for many. But to realize that we are lucky enough and given another chance to live in and do good things. For those people who doesn't want to change we can do nothing about them, but pray for them. It's not too late for us to change.
Thank you! for your comment. have a blessed day!!

I know, I'm being a cynic. But disasters and tragedies happen and eventually, they fade away from memory. The only disaster that will end all men's wickedness is the one that will end the world.

i hope. but i dont think so. i guess we all have been what we ought to be, somehow we are what we are.. no onvernight catastrophe could change a person unless, probably if he is directly affected by it... that it changes him as a person. other than that.. pardon me for my skepticism as i think, not we are nt to expect much changes....

I'm afraid this won't be enough to change people. Yeah, it may change people from Japan and maybe some who lives in other countries but if you're talking about corrupt people, the answer is no, it will not be enough.
