Please Double Check Your Cellphones, While You "Spring Forward."

I am one who is usually aware of time. Even if I am not sure what time it IS, I almost always know how much time has PASSED. Knowing that today is the day to turn all clocks ahead one hour in most of North America, I turned my watch ahead around 11 PM, so I wouldn't forget to do it in the morning. I was not going anywhere, so it didn't matter if my watch was wrong for a few hours. My computer, iPod, and iPhone would set themselves automatically, when the time came. My husband and I had a nice evening of watching TV etc, that lasted long past the hour of the time change. I looked at my watch, 3:15. I looked at my computer, 3:15. I looked at my iPod, 3:15. I looked at my iPhone, 4:15??? The stupid thing set itsself ahead TWO hours. There is no way to adjust the time on an iPhone, your provider does it for you automatically. I was a little upset, as I did not want one of my clocks to be wrong. I decided to turn the phone off, wait a while, and turn it on again. I don't know if the cell tower figured out the mistake, or if turning off the iPhone reset something, but when I turned it on again, my iPhone, and iPod matched. So to all those with computers, cellphones, iPods, and other devices that set themselves automatically, be sure and check them to make sure they set themselves to the CORRECT time.

I have heard this is a common thing, and it is necessary sometimes to turn a phone or computer etc. off and on again to get it to set to the right time. We still have 45 mins. here until we turn the clocks ahead, but I am getting ready to head off here and head for bed anyways. Will have to check in the morning to make sure everything is A-OK.

Hi there! It is very important that we should be aware of the exact time so that we could do our tasks timely. Thanks for sharing such an important information. I do not need to worry because I do not own any iphone or smart phone as of now, thought am planning to buy one. Hope now all your clocks have been set right and are showing the correct time.

Thanks for this public service announcement, although I don't have a cell phone. My cat, however, anticipated the time change a couple weeks ago and started demanding her dindins at 10am!

The Cell Phones all get Time in Sync from the Digital Information from Your Carriers Phone Data Transmission. So they all should have the Correct Time for DST on March 13th at 2:00am. But Errors can Happen but the Carries can See the Error and it will Self Correct to the Right Time

hi danishcanadian my computer was doing it automatically but at the wrong time as it was going by the daylight sav ings time that we had for awhile that was the same time every year. now in the last few years they changed it every year so its got out automatic computers and electronic devices set to the old daylights saving time a few years back so I had to manually set mine ahead this morning. Ihad looked it up for sure last weekend as someone here thought we went onto daylight savings time last weekend and we did not. so I checked and found it was 2 am March 13 so now I have it alright.

Since I don't have an iphone, I don't have that to worry about. The only clock that didn't change is the one on my dresser. If I set it ahead now, it will change again in a couple of weeks and be 2 hours ahead, so I am going to just leave it for now. I did change my wristwatch, the clock on the wall, and the clocks in the kitchen. It makes it nice when our cell phones and computers will change the time on their own, as that is 2 less things I had to change myself. I think it is crazy that the iphone went 2 hours ahead of instead just 1 hours. Sounds like a real flaw in it as far as the clock is concerned. Now, my ipod changed to teh right time, so didn't have to worr about that either. Take care, and have a very good day.
