Can you imagine such a situation. If you guys have seen the movies of The Matrix series then you can understand the situation. Recently we have seen tremendous progress in the filed of Computers and it is growing faster day by day. Computers have been invented who can defeat humans in some games. some peoples are predicting that in future computers will rule the world and humans will be their slaves. Do you agree or not.

I'm not so confident in human's ability to create a machine advanced enough to enslave its creators. People who have predicted this....Haven't they ever owned any kind of technology? Always having problems.

Modern technology advances more and more all of the time. I guess it wouldn;t be out of the realm of possibility to think of machines supervising humans one day. It is not what i would want for a future, but it is hard to tell what the future may bring one day.

Well it is coming some day, for better or for worse, but it is for a long time coming. At this point in time, the machines still need to be built by humans. They need to be maintained by humans. They need to be activated by humans. And humans can destroy those machines easily with a well placed computer virus. So there is not too much to worry about right at the moment. Still it is coming one of these days. Whether or not it actually does come in our life time, well that is something that I don't think it is going to happen. Still when we get to the points where computers can be created and coded without any human involvement, then I would start sweating just a little bit. Until that moment, you can breath easily.

I don't agree because we create machines to do tasks, when we enhance their AI (artificial intelligence) it is so they can handle multiple situations in what they were designed for. They won't control us unless we create advanced AI that is self-aware and designed to be nothing more than alive.

if the scientific progress continues the way it has done just the last 50 years I think it's absolutely possible that that could be a scenario in the future. Maybe in 10 years, maybe in 200 years, nobody knows.

I do not agree. Sure, I see that there is the possibility. These claims seem to be based on the simple logic that smarter ones always make (or at least try to) less intelligent ones into their slaves. However, any computer smart enough to fully function without being directed by humans would aim for effectivity, in my opinion. The most obvious choice of slaves for such entity are other machines. They can work nonstop, are more precise, never complain or fight back and do not have to grow up for many years before being useful. I think that intelligent machines in the future will rather cooperate with humans or try to wipe us out. I seriously doubt they would entertain the idea of using us as slaves for even a second.
