I have been enjoying the Six Flags Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom in Queensbury-Lake George, New York for a very long time now. Especially ever since the park itself was merged within the Six Flags chain as of 1996. I enjoy The Comet which was added in 1994, the Steamin Demon - added in 1984, the Boomerang which was put in as of 1997. Now two of my most favorite rides are the Sasquatch which was introduced in 2009 and the Skycoaster which was added in 2002. I always enjoy the Sasquatch ride - preferrably the drop side. The drop side used to be the Sonic Slam while the launch used to be the Bayou Blaster which were both relocated from the closed down Six Flags park in New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. Six Flags New Orleans used to be the Jazzland park. The Sasquatch twin tower ride is an S & S Power type ride that uses compressed air pressure to operate the ride. It was named in honor of that Bigfoot beast we call Sasquatch since the sightings around here. I definitely scream the loudest when the ride drops from the top at its fastest until the first bounce. The Now for the Skycoaster after I pull my ripcord at the very top, I start flying wild and cheer on. The former rides - the Rainbow was removed in 2006 to make room for the Sasquatch. The Rotor was dismantled for a reason. The Sky Lab was somewhat taken out for a reason - possibly to make room for the Skycoaster. Well, the Rainbow was removed definitely because of the accident on a similar ride in Norway back a few years ago. I do not mind the Alpine Bobsled, the Intamin style special coaster where riders experience the thrill of going down the icy hill in a bobsled - put into the park in 1998. I do enjoy the Splashwater Kingdom section, especially the Lumberjack Splash and the wavepool. I still enjoy the Raging River, Desperado Plunge, and The Condor, too. All three of them are family type nonthrill rides - but moderate. The Canyon Blaster - the family nonthrill rollercoaster which has no loops or corkscrews was added in 2003. Now if anyone wants to discuss about The Six Flags Great Escape in New York, go ahead and respond to this discussion.
