I suggest being upfront and honest about all your skills. You need to sell yourself per say. Grades don't really mean anything in the real world. I've been working for several years. I can tell you just because someone was a 4.0 student doesn't make them the best for the job. I will take commonsense over book smartS any day of the week. GOOD LUCK WITH THE JOB HUNT.

yes maybe its true. i also heard to others that grades are just numbers and dont really justify who you are and what you can do. maybe i just need to find the right spot at the right job where i can excel the most.

My advice would be to go to the interview, give a firm handshake and portray yourself as confidently as you can. Play up your strengths, and be honest about your weaknesses, but make it a point to let the employer know that you are willing to work on those weaknesses, and you are worth hiring. When it comes to that feeling of dread and anxiousness that you are having, you just have to tell yourself that even if one company says no, there are others and each one of those is a potential yes. You also need to tell yourself that just because one says no, that one word is just that, a word. It cannot harm you unless you allow it to, Yes, it can get depressing to hear that word repeatedly, but for each no you hear, you are one step closer to hearing YES. Relax and don't let this situation bother you so much. You will end up getting the job that suits you best. In the meantime, practice displaying confidence. Walk around with your head up and standing tall. When you shake someone's hand, shake firmly, but not to firmly. Smile....a lot and make eye contact with others around you. If you begin to do these things now, it will become natural and you will increase your chances of landing the job that you want.

A very good advise indeed. Perhaps I can add up something. Always come on time and if possible earlier than expected. As you notice, first impression lasts. Most companies value time. In fact that is the reason why they have this punch card to monitor time. So, if you are always on time, they will see you as a good employee and of course by coming on time, you will have more productive time.. Good luck on your new endeavor!

I also was an average student, and had failed some subjects before I got my diploma. The only advantage I had was that I finished up from one of (if not) the best school of the country. My advice would be to strenghten your resolve. Rejection is inevitable. But those rejections would not kill you. And like they say...what doesn't kill you, just makes you stronger.

Your resume is important to get you the interview. However, make sure that what you write is true. The worst thing that can happen is the resume gets you the interview and then the interviewer discovers that you have lied on your resume. Extra curricular activities helps and description on your previous projects may also provide the interview with information that will let them know if you match their requirements. Different companies have different requirements at different times. So don't be disappointed if you are not selected. Sometimes, their requirements may not match you at the time. Also be careful about accepting the job. It is not good to always move from one company to another so you need to know that the company you applied for is the company you want to work for. Companies spend a lot of time and money to select candidates so they want to make sure they have a win win proposition.

You can look at yoru first couple of interviews as practice for the "bigger'ones. That will help you be less nervous and more comfortable during them. It will relieve some of the pressure and help you feel better about it. They will also give you the needed experience at being interviewed.

Hello! Everybody has his or her own strength and weaknesses. Try to overcome this feeling of yours that you will not make it in the company that you're applying for. Not all things here on earth including job hunting focused on one's intelligence alone. Luck I believe plays a huge role as well in determining our future. This explains why other highly intelligent people end up with nothing while some who are average, became successful. Keep your hope and faith high, you can make it, I believe. Good morning!
