So I am excited because I have found a cheaper cell phone service for myself. I will be cutting my bill in half every month. I am thinking about getting a blackberry. I am not 100% positive that I can get a blackberry though. If I can afford it I will get one.
Just to let people know I don't like touchscreen. My older phone was the samsung messenger. I liked the phone. Although I am excited about a bigger screen on the phone. As long as I can afforde it I am getting the blackberry, if not then I might have to get another type. Or I might have to just save up for it.
I want to know what are people's ratings on blackberry?
What do you like and dislike about them?

Hi!
I would also like to know the answers to your questions. I have also been eyeing a Blackberry and will buy one when I have the money. Like you, I do not like touchscreen. Although my Samsung Omnia is nice, I have become a lazy texter because of the touchscreen. I keep committing errors whenever I type. I would like to try qwerty next.
Thanks for posting this discussion.

Blackberry torch will give you two options: touch screen and qwerty too. Torch is the best among the blackberry phones and it's not so expensive as compared to iphone. Very nice and all the applications are great too as long as you enable your blackberry rim service you can enjoy your phone a lot. There are many applications and you can update your phone too.

in my opinion blackberry devices are not bad but they are suitable much more for business needs considering their devices and services...surely if you decide to use them as private they cna be ok but as regards camera, multimedia, browsing the ent may be you can find even other devices which they can be better for these purposes...in general i think if you are searching for a cheap phone and you like the idea that it is just a phone and not something more as many devices right now may be blackberry curve for example is ok..also because it is a phone, qwerty keyboard, normal specs but price really cheap..

Hi o2bnocn,
You dont like touch screen , i dont like touch screen too . That is why i still use my old Nokia phone. But you must understand now it is time of touch screen phones as most of the new phones coming are touch screen espcially if you are going to use android phones. About black berry well they are very good business phones and even though i never had one but my friends have it and i like them but they are too costly and not of any use to me.

I have been using a blackberry for two years now and I must that it is a must have if you really like to be current on the internet, be able to respond to discussion here on mylot, create blog post even when you are on the road. These is a phone for every body, you can always find something new to do with the phone, always offers more free apps unlike Iphones.
If you can afford it why not check out the bold 3 or blackberry touch, since you say you want a bigger screen and don't want touch screen phones, for the blackberry touch, it's a multi functional phone, you could use the hidden full QWERTY keyboard by sliding the phone.

I find blackberries overrated. They are not as good as people make it out to be. Except for the people that have only used blackberry and claim its the best thing ever. Androids and Iphones all the way.

Yes, this summer I am going to invest in one. My friend, she has a Blackberry and she said that it was totally worth it. If you have to get a hold of people and the only way you can contact them is via texting or e-mail, then a Blackberry is what you want.

I've used a blackberry before. It's not that user-friendly compared to samsung in my opinion. Although I prefer Nokia everytime because it's the most user-friendly cellphone brand I've ever used.

I have been a blackberry user for 7 years now and absolutely love it. Each time it upgrades I do too. My carrier is now releasing the iphone so I am debating, especially since I can get the iPhone for free but somehow because of my trusty blackberry I can't make up my mind yet.
Best recommendation is to make sure you install the Blackberry Rim application to your computer and update the upgrades each time they come out. Most issues many have with blackberry is that they do not have the updated software.

I am a blackberry user and I love it compared to samsung (I gave my samsung star to my brother), Ericsson and nokia. Nokia is the worst phone I've ever used. Make sure you registered in blackberry rim services to fully enjoy the phone. It has lots of applications, you can even chat in facebook, bum, and so much more. I would never exchange my bb for any brands out there except iPhone 4 maybe. I'm planning to get myself a bb torch though.
I love my BlackBerry!
