I wish "developed" nations would leave African nations alone, and pray perceptive Africans would continue to stand up against intruders! As if we did not have enough puppet governments in Africa, France and the US and their cronies are in Ivory Coast desperately attempting to install puppet president Alassane Ouattara, Burkina Faso born and Burkina Faso national, when the Constitution of Cote d'Ivoire mandates that the president of Ivory Coast be the offspring of an Ivorian father and an Ivorian mother!

How about those nice, friendly pirates killing, kidnapping and extorting. Should we leave them to their crimes too?

Did it dawn on you that those "pirates" would not be kidnapping, extorting and killing had these trespassers (from nations known to degrade their ecosystem and deprive them of their resources) had good sense to stay away from their territory? Instead of disrespecting their rights and pushing their buttons, why not simply keep out? Why should Nationalists and Patriots be punished for defending themselves?

Those "pirates" have resorted to seizing ships and demanding ransom (their version of fines) for the sake of their nation. Had those foreign pirate ships, their various flag nations or the UN listened to the pleas of Somali vigilantes when they complained about constantly finding toxic wastes on their shores and unlawful fishing by foreign vessels, then may be they would not be playing jury, judge and executioner!
Few months ago when BP had its oil spill on the Gulf, we were enraged and demanded blood! Imagine what it is like to constantly find toxic wastes on your shore and helplessly watch the degradation of your resources because some rogues who assume you ought to kiss their behinds are determined to violate your rights! By your definition, I guess the tea partiers are evil scumbags.

.And I wondered why Obama did not want to help get rid of Khadaffi. Libya is part of Africa is it not?

Yes, Libya is in Africa. Suspenseful, did you not hear Obama repeatedly threatening Gaddafi and demanding that the colonel resign?
While I strongly believe that people over 70 should retire from public office, I however think this should be of the working of the nationals of a nation/country. I first want to go to Washington DC and get rid of all those 70+ tyrants and those DC terrorists threatening my rights as human!

Colonel Gaddafi is an observant and perceptive African, and not a man to be easily coerced. There have been various sanctions over the years against Libya; but the Colonel is not easily intimidated. While I may not agree with his tactics, colonel Gaddafi has good reasons for his disdain of "developed" nations attempting to dictate to his nation. The man knows and always remembers history and knows that the presence of Western nations in the Continent of Africa has always meant dictatorship and plundering:
Most of Africa's civil unrest stems from constant meddling by developed nations. Neither Barack Obama nor any other nations has the authority to decide what ought to happen in another nation.

Get rid of those who took away the freedom. The trouble with Obama is that he just threatened Gaddaffi but he did not back it up. He could have used the fly over zone, cut out tourism to that nation, use economic reasons such as not buying any of their goods or shipping anything to Libya, but it was and is just empty words.

I agree with you. My wife was born and raised in Africa (she's American now), and she said we just need to leave Africa alone. Cut off aid, stop sending charity over, and let them fend for themselves. The charity is just misused as soon as missionaries leave. Mosquito nets are sold for cash, Heifer Project egg-laying hens and milk giving cows are tossed on the grill to eat, fruit trees are cut down for firewood, all of it is misused and it's all due to the attitude of "This is Africa. I may die tomorrow, so I'll just live for today." Until that attitude changes, there really isn't anything the west can do for Africa, except kill all the pirates.

I think there is plenty the West can do for Africa: Just leave Africa alone!

This may be the first time I've ever agreed with you. I think the main reason that Africa is such a horrible place is that they weren't allowed to evolve on their own. Europeans, primarily the British, plundered the continent for it's resources centuries ago and determine the best way to maximize their efforts was to pseudo-annex it, draw borders, and invent countries regardless of what tribes lived where. Technology that the local population couldn't fathom was introduced and the result was that a stone age culture got modern age technology and it's been he1l there ever since.
The problem is that other countries will NEVER leave. There's too much oil and diamonds to be had. Nigeria is one of the top 5 places for the US to get oil from and nobody is going to let that get cut off.
