Ever since I started high school, I always though the things going on in my and my friends life would make a great story. I had this dream of writing a book back then. These days not so much though.
Have you ever thought of writing a book?? If you were to write a book, what would you write about?? If I were to write a book, it would probably be based on a student's life.

I'd love to write a book sometime in my life. But it'd probably take a lot of hard work, not to mention time. I'm not a quick writer at all.
However, if I were to write a book at this point in my life, it'd probably have something to do with student life (as context), but it would deal mainly with my feelings, emotions, and intimate thoughts. It would be really introspective and a difficult read.

Yeah, writing a book is not an easy job. It would take quite a while. It's just my thought though, I don't really know if I'll be writing a book or not and yes I'm a slow writer too .
Anyway thanks for the response and have a good day.

When I will write a book then my topic will be fraud in friendship.
I want to say why the people make a friend use them and then left the friendship. I dont understand why people do this. A small story me and my friend studying together MCM I teach her till night and then I study mine she is passed with 74% and I got only 64%. Her married is fixed by me means I choose a boy for her in that time her family members were very happy. But when the marriage is solmenized one day she call me and saying dont call next time.
Her friendship is only for study purpose because everyone knows I am good student and good teacher also so she is used me and my friendship only for solving her purpose. She is very week in Oracle, Java and PTM subject she worried about these subject so he closed me only for studying purpose.
She stay on my house 15 days regular day and night till exam is end.
Why she is used me because I am innocent or because I more believed on her friendship. I will write from first day to last day story till she was with me.
Thanks for putting this discussion

@surekhaji,Feels sorry for your experiance about your friend. But you know all the people are not same.I think one should be very careful to choose the friends.Whenever you comlpete your book, send first copy to that friend so that she will understand what a big mistake she had done? and what is the meaning of friendship? And just forget her, there are lots of nice people in the world for friendship.

Surekharathi: I think you're a really good person coz you helped her many times even when you knew she was just using you. There are many people in this world who aren't worth your friendship. To be honest, i just run away from that kind of people. But everyone is not the same. There are many people who does appreciate your help. And what sameer_1984 said is absolutely true.

Think of all the great movies(taken from books)that were written about youngsters in school! There are scads like Weird Science, Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire, Back to the Future, Breakfast Club, Christine, Carrie, and many more. I have a book in my head that I have been compiling since I was in junior high school. You should write about what you know. Something close to home. I wish you luck in your endeavors to write.

I've written five books. Been writing since I was... umm.... well since. I remember working on my first "novel" when I was 12. It only ended up being around 25,000 words, which is not long enough to be a novel... but at that age it was a novel to me!
I've since written five 50,000+ word novels. Two of them were for NaNoWriMo, the national writer's challenge to write a novel in a month. Three of them are YA (young adult) fantasy novels, and the other two are my beloved mutant children. I call them my mutant children because I'm very attached to fantasy... it's my favorite genre to read and most of my ideas are fantasy ideas... and yet I ventured outside of fantasy and wrote one science fiction and one realistic fiction/drama.
The thing is... I don't find it hard to write a book. I thought NaNoWriMo was a breeze (please don't shoot me). Getting published... now that's hard.

Go for it. The only thing holding you back is you. You don't need any special equipment or fancy budget to write a book... you just need your creativity and some way to write things down.

Wow that is so cool. I love fantasy novels too but I don't think I can write one. I don't have any creative imagining power lol I can only write about what I experienced. That is so cool though, I would love to have a book of my own someday.

Hi there,
I have started writing a book and at present I am on chapter 15. It is about 2 lost months in my life. I was travelling (by plane) from Thailand to the UK, with a 2 hour stop-over in Dubai, 2 months after leaving Thailand I finally reached the UK and the safety of family and friends.

Hi girl,
Yes, this is a true life experience and nothing in it is fabricated. It is exactly as it happened on a day-to-day basis. A bit like a diary, of 2 missing months i my life.
I was told to put pen to paper, as a way to help me erase the horrors and nightmares, that I went through, from my mind. Gradually it has gone from a therapy document to a book based written log.
When it is finished, I then have to sit down and decide...do I try and get it published and let the world know of the horrors and nightmares I went through, or just keep it as a private and personal document.
If, I do try to publish it, then the hard work really starts with convincing and agent and publisher to handle it.
Decision, Decisions!!

Hey LeighB, I sense you had some bad experiences there. I think you'd feel much better if you share those terrible experiences you had, and you can do that by publishing that book. Whatever you do I wish you good luck for that. Hope all those bad memories pass. God bless you.

I do so wish that I could write a book, but sometimes my mind would go blank when I start to write. Even writing an article sometimes takes me hours or even days to complete. I think one would need to really sit down and set their mind straight in order to write well. But if i were to write a book, I think I would like to write children's books because I like kids alot. Hmmm, maybe I should try it one day.

If I have the skills to start off with in the first place , I'd love to write a paranormal story. It would be filled with lots of action sequences and I'd give 2 options at the end for readers to choose. I used to read a book whereby we can choose option a or option b and then read the story from there. I thought that was so interesting and I went for option a first and then after I finished the whole book , went to read again and went to choose option b just to whet my curiosity. I don't know what that type of book is called , but if I were to write a book , it'll be like that.

Like you, when I was young, I thought about writing a book. Unfortunately, I never pursued my writing until just the last couple of years. Really, if it hadn't been for the internet and the ease of writing and posting articles and blogging, I probably never would have. Maybe if I keep writing more and more, I will get to the point of actually writing the book I dreamed about years ago.

I have thought about it before. I always thought that writing a book about my family would be interesting. Although I do write poetry more than writing books. I feel that small poems help me cope with things, especially when I am listening to music and writing them.

Yeah actually I think the life story of people will be better than some fictional story. You should definitely write the book you've been wanting to. Good luck with that

If I were to write a book it would be fiction stories of love and romance; novels... I also love thrillers so I'm also thinking of making one. Since in writing you can't avoid imparting every bit of yourself into it. Perhaps about family...life..there are many interesting topics to choose from..

Hey..
I always dream to write a novel.. I'm a fan of Nicholas Sparks. Since high school, I used to write Tagalog novels.. I've tried to publish it in a publishing company but they didn't accept it because its too short! I didn't know at first that they want a novel containing 24,000 words.. Mine was only 14,000 HAHAHA!
Until now I write novels and just keep it.. So my siblings, and the next generation of me can read it! :)

I have ever thought things about that. I also wrote, but it's just a short article, and from then on, i realized that it's important for a writer to make an outline. Or else my plan will be broken. My articles were based on students' life, too. But,now, maybe a horror fiction will be a good idea. My nightmare appears everyday, and when i wake up,the scenes are all clear. Hahah...(my friends' suggestions ...)

Yeah writing a book based on nightmares you get sounds good. I know how some dreams are so spooky and would make a great book. Unfortunately i don't get such nightmare, nor do i have a really creative mind. The only thing i would write, if i ever write, is about my school life.

hi thatgirl I too wish to write a book about how a happy kid on the farm ended up in old age in this tiresome retirement center where I would never have wanted to go in the first place. a child born into the first depression and now hit by the second depression. my title Strawberry Mornings and Watermelon Afternoons. I still wish to do
this so much. I have started it but have stopped for awhile.

First of all: DO IT. Write that book, edit it, and perfect it. Whether or not you decide to publish it, it will be an accomplishment that can only benefit you.
I have been a writer all my life. When I was younger I wrote a series of books based on some girls who owned horses and raised them, since I did the same. It reached seven books before I grew out of horses and began writing books focusing on personal relationships and how they can change and affect people. This was when I was about eleven.
When I was sixteen, I met my husband. It was love at first sight, which I didn't believe in before I went through it, and the experience affected me so profoundly that I began writing romance novels. I became entranced with how two people can be solely meant for one another, but also wanted to write realistic novels, since most romance novels are "happily ever after!" which simply isn't the case. Basically, all my books start with "What if?" questions where I write about hard-to-conquer situations and how two people in love might get through them.
I wrote some horror stories when I was younger, mostly in play form (I don't know why). I also am in the midst of writing a fantasy/science fiction/romance combination that has been in my head for awhile. So far, though, what I'm good at is romance, and I think I'll just stick to publishing those until I finish this fantasy novel and see what others think of it. Mainly, though, I've always been a writer...but it was only after I found something that I could pour my heart and soul into that I actually had the nerve to write full novels and publish them!

A book of solid-truth in laws and definitions. It wouldn't so-much be a story ... except to show how laws and definitions become solid ... with maybe examples showing what happens when they're NOT solid.

No, not in a million years, on account of my dismally short attention span to accommodate the entire process of tailoring the typical thousand pages of a novel. Only restrict myself to writing short stories that do not quite pertain to anything what people would deem as 'realistic', which I hope to compile into something of a book in the near future upon reaching a certain number. I mean, would you perceive a mutant rabbit assassin from Hell to run along the lines of real life? I sometimes do. I do wish I have the mental capacity to conceive mind-bogglingly large tomes as was a friend of mine said to manage...
