It is illegal for government employees and officials to use government property and assets for partisan politics. But of course, that doesn't stop the thugs running the states major teachers union. Here is an email that proves this law means nothing to them.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Race
As it happens, there's another really important race going on in Wisconsin right now: a Democrat, JoAnne Kloppenburg, is challenging Republican state Supreme Court Justice David Prosser. The race is technically non-partisan, but Prosser used to be the Republican state House Majority Leader. Check out his endorsements, and you see how this works. More importantly, if Kloppenburg were to win, she'd shift the balance on the court from 3-4Rto 4-3, which could be crucial if the court is called upon to rule on any of Scott Walker's legislative measures.
More information on this race, and what you can do to help will be coming early next week. We need a large group of dedicated workers to distribute literature during spring break, and to make phone calls. If you are in town, consider spending a day or two working on her campaign. She is taking public financing which severely limits her exposure, so getting out literature will be imperative. There may be opportunities to contribute to PAC funds that will be supporting her. Again, more information early next week, or through your building rep.
Get out the VOTE on Tuesday, April 5th!!!

Mrs Coolant Spray and I were talking about reasons to home school, and the issues of teachers being political pawns came up. Any state worker is going to be a pawn for political purposes--teachers are worse off because they in turn make students into political pawns, too. Every mention of budget cuts is met with "why do you hate children/students/teachers/everything", as evidenced by the recent protests. The fact that they're unionized just makes the political power games more distateful.
The judicial branch was intended to be bipartisan. I'm not sure when it became the back-door legislative branch with no accountability.

Isn't it ironic how they consider local and state budget cuts "hating the teachers", but reductions in the size of the US military somehow isn't "hating the troops".

It shows that the study released last year was right. They have zero common sense and no ability to reason.

It's interesting that she prefaces her email by saying "it's technically non-partisan" but then goes on to explain how the makeup of the court could affect rulings on legislation that Democrats don't like.
Obviously breaking the law in using public assets.
I also note when it was published, 1:01pm on a Friday. If she's a teacher, shouldn't she be teaching about that time of day? Or did she have the day off to protest?
The unions are in a fight for power. The members might think they are fighting for rights, but the unions are fighting to hold onto their power.

Now I truly understand why our students are so far behind in test scores. It is beginning to sound like they really are just indoctrination centers.
Do they REALLY believe this will make schools better? Why isn't this whole thing about the EDUCATION of children? Teachers, nurses, firefighters, police are suppose to be public servants. Where is the servant's heart? Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating taking advantage of them by treating them wrongly, there is just an attitude of entitlement (in all sectors of life)that tells me they're selfish. That they really do not care for others like they care for themselves. No one wants to question this. No one wants to talk about this. In my job I am trained that the resident (patient) comes first. We are there FOR THEM. We are told that even if it is not our job, we are to do what is best FOR THEM. ie my job is to pass medications. That does not mean I cannot assist someone to the bathroom or give them a hand with brushing their hair. My job is to take care of them, period.
I came across a webpage that shocked me. Do you realize that people have sued their community police for damages when they failed to protect a citizen? A woman was brutally murdered by her ex husband after calling the police. She had had to call them numerous times when he came to her home and threatened her. They had even once arrested him for tresspassing and abusing her. This particular time, they took their time responding (for whatever reason) and he killed her. The family sued the police for taking their time responding. They lost. Seems the police are under no responsibility to protect a private citizen according to the judge, only to enforce the law. What the heck does that mean?
I guess I am naive. I guess my preconcieved ideas about what this country and our society is all about are outdated.

Oh come on, you know the only right to choose parents have is whether or not to abort their kids.

I get this kind of crap in my work email all the time. In Florida it was illegal too and employees could be fired for it, but in New Jersey it's done all the time at the behest of the union.
I constantly get crap telling me how evil Gov. Christie is for cutting spending. First it was about how he wants us all to die because now we have to contribute 1%, yes ONE PERCENT of our salary to health insurance (it used to be free). Then I got emails saying he hates working people because he wants people who get fired for misconduct to be forced to wait an extra month to receive unemployment benefits and people fired for gross misconduct to not get benefits at all. I really miss the non-partisan public sector of Florida. I also miss not being in a union.
