I have waited this week very much and I have to say that I hope for Bayern to knock Inter out. As for the other games, here are my predictions:
Manchester-Marseille 1-1. This means that I expect Marseille to go through.
Chelsea-Koppenhagen 2-1. Which means Chelsea will qualify.
Real-Lyon 2-2, which would be a great upset for Mourinho and probably his end at Madrid.
So what do you think? Who will go through? Please share.

I will disagree on some of the results. I agree with you on Bayern beating Inter. At Manchester, I expect United to go through against Marseille. Again at Real I expect Real to win the match and go through. I think Chelsea will also go through easily in the match at Stamford Bridge.
So for me it is Bayern, Man U, Real, Chelsea in the next round.
Cheers!

Inter managed to stage an upset by beating Bayern 3-2 on the night to go through on away goals rule. On the other hand Man U managed to reach the next round thanks to a brace from Hernandez. Hernandez is turning out to be a serious goal poacher now.
Cheers!

I have to say that Bayern was far better than Inter, but they didn't manage to score more from the numerous occasions they have had. And the first goal of Inter was from offside, an easy call for the linesman, but he was blind. And Motta should have been sent off, for fouling Robben without ball, which injured Robben. The referee was 3 meters away and he hasn't given not even a foul. This makes me think that he was bad intended.
As for the other game, it doesn't matter for me anymore, because whenever Bayern is knocked out, the importance for this competition is almost nil for me. I still watch it, but I am almost impassive to what it happens. My only wish is that the winner to other than ManU, Inter or Real. I think Barca will win it, but with this type of refereeing, everything is possible. And the sad part is that referees are never punished, despite being at much lower level than the competition.

If you take the games on paper and based on the first leg results, then you are right, this will be the outcome. But how many times the odds were beaten and the "weaker" team qualified. I just hope that Bayern will go through. The other games are only interesting when Bayern qualifies.

I think there will be some truly exciting matches in the Champions League this week and we won't see boring matches such as Tottenham vs Milan last week.Anyway, these are my predictions:Bayern-Inter 3-1(and Italian clubs will be out of Europe);Chelsea-Kobenhavn 2-0(easy mission for Chelsea);Manchester-Marseile 1-1(there has to be a surprise and Marseille is capable of that)and Real-Lyon 3-1(I think this time Real will get its revenge in front of the French team and meet Barca in the quarterfinals!).That's it,let's enjoy the shows!

It seems that we see the games almost the same, only Real being different. I hope that Bayern will qualify, the other games can end how they want. I just shared what I felt.

@polaris Although the Tottenham and AC Milan match could be considered boring over all it was an exciting result with Spurs being big underdogs in the match with predictions earlier in the season suggesting Tottenham would be lucky to qualify and yet they proved their critics wrongs and took their group by storm . So while the single game may have been quite boring with the bigger picture in mind it was quite exciting for spurs to progress and defend quite well against an Italian team who are known for being brilliant defensively .
I reckon this weeks matches will be equally as dull as the last round of matches with the exception of the Inter Milan and Bayern Munich game. I do see Marseille being at the forefront against United but doubt they will take their chances which is what the game will come down to .

@polaris I cannot see Marseille going through...United has been excellent at OT, and there is no doubt that they are more confident and effective playing there...The chances are 50-50, but after seeing them played dull in their own ground I doubt they will take the spoils at OT...
@stevieboi19, I cannot see that either, my friend! Marseille has been excellent in their league campaign, with their keeper Mandanda keeping clean sheets for 5 consecutive games now...No offense, but I expect to see that crumbling down at Manchester...

I feel sad when knowing that Bayern was knocked out by Inter. I will called it the end of an era by Louis van Gaal. He could be sacked sooner than later.

Van Gaal has already been told that he won't retain his job come the end of the season , so I doubt they'll sack him now with stability a better option for them at the minute .

As for me, I believe Bayern will go through, despite losing to the very same team in the CL final last year...With an away goal advantage, Bayern will undoubtedly start strongly at home...Inter have little chance of overturning the home deficit...IMO, United will prevail against Marseille, 2-1, backed with their strong record at home (24 games undefeated this season)...
Chelsea will qualify, with 2-goals advantage it is hardly any chance for Kobenhavn, 2-1 at Stamford Bridge...Real will prevail against Lyon, 1-0 at Bernabeu...
Nevertheless, football are not played on paper... We can just predict, but time will tell...

If football would be played on paper, I would be a very rich person now, and probably sitting in the Allianz Arena waiting for the big game to start. Honestly, I don't really care for other results, only for Bayern to qualify. I just predicted them, because I am interested in football and I also like to bet. I will be interested in the other results only if Bayern will qualify. Because each time when Bayern is knocked out, the Champions League doesn't seem so attractive for me anymore. But I guess this is the case with every fan when the favorite team is being knocked out.
That being said, I hope this Champions League season will be very interesting for me till the end. Which means Bayern playing the final and winning it as well.

I think Manchester United will beat Marseille and should do so quite easily I expect with the win against Arsenal they will continue their winning ways and put out Marseille, I just can't see Marseille taking any of their chances which will ultimately cost them a place in the next round .
Bayern I think will falter and Inter will make a come back to win but any result there doesn't bother me too much.
Chelsea should win easily with the two goal advantage they already hold over Copenhagen. On the night though I could see Copenhagen nicking one nil victory.
The Real Madrid and Lyon game will be close but I see Real showing there quality when it's needed nd essentially on the offensive side of the pitch, Real to go through surely. Also on your comment about Mourinho I doubt they'll sack him win or lose not at least until the end of the season as their still within reach of Barcelona so the title is still within their grasp .

It seems that we see every game differently. As for Mourinho being sacked if knocked out I wanted to say that he will be sacked at the end of the season if they won't win any trophies. Because I don't see them winning the Spanish League nor the Cup.

Yeah it appears that way . Mourhino though I still don't think he's got the team he wants I reckon he'd choose to have less of the big ego players at the club in exchange for someone who's prepared to put in a shift even if it is a messier style of football if it gets the results then why not.
I do also seeing Barcelona winning the league and although I'd personally be annoyed if he got the sack as to many managers don't get the chance to change the fortunes of the clubs even if he's at a bigger club it doesn't always mean success is guaranteed I do think he'll get the sack come the end of the season if he succeeds in winning no silverware .
The big question is though if they sack Mourinho who will be able to deliver for the club with the demand of the task in hand to handle the big names and to manage to bring out enough good football from them yet all this balanced out with winning some trophies, not an easy task that's one thing and if the 'special one' can't live up to it I doubt many other managers in the modern game can .
