The disasters that happened in Japan recently showed the dangers of a nuclear power plant. What would it bring to the future of constructing new nuclear power plants. Can the tsunami be the sign of the end of the world. I'm not an atheist but there are many evidences of the 2012 apocalypse. In the Philippines, the storm Ondoy flooded Manila and many cars were also damaged. This is the same in Japan. No person can stop the tremendous power of a rampaging tsunami. That is so scary. I hope this doesn't happen. Life is still here in me. While there's still time, I hope to enjoy all that life can offer. I'll have a summer vacation at the beach even if I'm afraid of a tsunami. Yeah, I miss sunbathing but I don't tan my skin because it might give me skin diseases. And the Bird Flu virus killed many people too.

hi there.
i really hope not :( i am actually scared because i still wanna be with my family and loved ones. and i thought our Dear God already promised us to never ever destroy the world after that Great Flood, and we will be reminded by His promise every time we see a rainbow?
But i think maybe He is also doing this because most of us people have already forgotten about Him. we are more concerned about ourselves and we only tend to remember Him when we are in need, but when we are happy, we don't even thank Him or remember Him. and also we have to be more caring for His creation, our life, other people's lives and especially our mother earth. we have been very abusive and now it's coming back to us. let us be more prayerful and caring and have more faith in Him.

Hi Cherish
Yes, God is good. He will answer our prayers. Let's pray for the victims of tsunami. Let us also pray for our fellow men. Maybe God has different plants for each of one us. As I've read across in this discussion, they say that it was an accident. No one knew that it would happen. Maybe the numbers people are talking about are just a coincidence. They're just trying to scare us.
Let's have faith in God. Let's help our neighbors in Japan. God bless us all

Time can only tell when that can happen. I guess many are basing this on the Mayan Calendar that stopped at year 2012. I really do not know what but I can only say one thing live for today and prepare for the future. Enjoy life for what is gives us today and do not worry about what the future holds for us since if you keep on thinking what might happen the life you are living right now would just be worst worrying right now.

SCIENTIFIC EXPERTS from around the world are predicting that five years from now, all life on Earth could well come to an end. Some are saying it’ll be humans that would set it off. Others believe that a natural phenomenon will be the cause. And the religious folks are saying it’ll be God himself who would press the stop button. The following are some likely arguments as to why the world would end by the year 2012.
Reason one: Mayan calendar
The first to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things -- building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and sacrificing virgins.
Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the earth will end on December 21, 2012. Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, it’s likely they’ve got the end of the world right as well.
Reason two: Sun storms
Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery. Our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic and it’s supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the earth with lot of radiation energy. It’s been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse and calculations suggest it’ll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012.
Reason three: The atom smasher
Scientists in Europe have been building the world’s largest particle accelerator. Basically, its a 27 km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it’s properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They’re predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.

I don't trust a movie for sure. It just a thriller and should not believe it. No science proof for this. It just coinsidence

I don't think the world is gonna end in 2012...we are having disasters because we are doing injustice to our envirnment. So the environment is taking her revenge by giving us disasters like tsunami, katrina, hurricane etc...But that's not the cause of the world's end.The scientists of NASA have predicted something regarding this matter..They have said that an asteroid named Planet-X is gonna hit the world on December 21,2011..But they are not quite sure.Because if it would happen in 2012,the scientists would had been able to track it in the past decade. All i can say is that the world is not gonna end in 2012 .We,men, are responsible for these disasters..

This tsunami is not a sign of the end of the world, but a sign that we as human beings must unite to protect and save the earth that we are given to live on. I too hope that the world would not end in 2012 as I would like to further enjoy my life in this amazingly beautiful world. On believing whether the world will end on 2012 part, I think we should just live our lives, unite to protect the earth and hope for a better tomorrow. We should not keep thinking about the world ending in 2012 and flunk or neglect everything around us. What if the world doesn't end in 2012? Your life will be totally screwed if you don't work hard as usual.

Why should I think so? This is not for the first time that such a disaster occurs. A numbers of greater disaster occurred during the geologic past. You may mention the impact during Cretaceous - Tertiary boundary when the giant Dinosauras became extict. But the earth continued. Some members of flora and fauna survived along with the newer one. That tradition wil continue, I beleive.
