Have you ever heard of an anima who had been affected by polio? This is because I did. In fact, I saw one. His name is Bogart,a seven year old Bengal Tiger who currently lives in a zoo. Tigers are known to be enormous, proud and ferocious animals with its huge paws and sharp canine teeth. The caretaker told us that the owner donated him to the zoo because he could no longer take care of him. Can you imagine? Bogart can consume as much as sixty kilos of meat everyday! His appetite is quite amazing. The thing that trouble him is his left leg. You see, Bogart is a polio victim. Despite its difficulties, he still manages to live each day with hope in his heart even when he is alone and caged.

hello there lina! I can already imagine Bogart being a very big tiger. I think he is one of a kind because of his illness which also makes him very special. I wish a lot of people knew about him so that they can also help in taking care of Bogart like donating for his food. I believe his food alone is very expensive since it is about 60 kilos. wheew!

OMG! This is the first time I’m hearing of any animal being inflicted with human diseases. It was always my belief that staying amongst nature, gives a special immunity to animals, they kind of get naturalized to withstand a host of diseases which we humans are constantly suffering from. I’ve seen pet animals at the vet, falling sick and suffering from fever just like us and I’ve wondered at the wild animals and birds who are out there against rain and hail and storm, yet do they ever fall sick? I really don’t know!

Humans are Affected by polio which can have a devastating effect on their lives. We are counselled, given medicines and encouraged to overcome the ill effects of polio.Imagine a wild animal who has been incapacitated in one of his legs due to polio.I feel the animal has to be well looked after as he wouldn't survive in the wild with polio. This is the first instance where I've heard of an animal being affected by polio.
