Surely the devastating Tsunami has given literally no time to react for the Japanese and the fears are expanding day by day leaving the people to think " whether we would survive today". The bank of japan made a big stride in infusing funds to the tune of $184 billion to revive the economy. Although the relief work has already started the death toll is still to be arrived upon correctly.what could be the advent of the damages if such a situation was to happen to India?...are our reactors safe?....

Hi twinklee,
So far I know our reactors are not at Earth quake prone area. This is our satisfaction. But something like Japan would happen in India is sure. I am afraid of the upper parts of the North Eastern States.
So much of coal and natural resource have been dug out of the bowels of Meghalaya, specially the Jayantiya hills and Khaso hills that if an earth quake with the magnitude of Japan has to be there the whole hilly area would vanish.
And the upper part of Assam also is in threat because of taking out the natural oil and emptying the interior of the Earth.
