in my family, we usually celebrate birthday and anniversary. like preparing food which is different from the usual we eat. then going to church to give thanks to God for the blessings and another year that He give. when i joined a community, they also celebrate birthdays and with some socialization. however, when i transferred from another community they run away. they make alibis to be out of town. how about you, how do you celebrate birthdays, anniversary and the likes?

In my religion we do celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, feasts, foundation days with hearing mass and enjoy feast meal for everybody. But that is if you are capable of preparing for it otherwise, going to church and hearing a mass is enough.

my birthday is always celebrated at my mother's house. my wife cooks and we bring it there. then all my siblings and their family will be there too to celebrate with me. but when we wake up on that day we start our day by going to church before doing anything. my wife's birthday i ask her where she wants to go. i ask her a week before her birthday. what ever she wants to do then it will be my command. last year she wanted to have a massage and her nails done then after that we went to eat dinner on the restaurant of her choice. during our anniversary we date together we leave our son to my sister and we go out just the two of us. sometimes on a movie sometimes we get a massage together or sometimes just being together. but we always start our day by going to church.

We don't really celebrate to a great extent any special days. My husband and I get cards and small gifts for our birthdays, Valentine's Day and mother's and father's day. We do a bit more at Christmas, we go to visit all our families, if we can't do it on the day, we try to get around to them at some point during the Christmas time. Our main celebrations through the year are our children's birthdays. We always throw a party, even if only a few people can come. We're not deeply religious and we don't go to Church that often although my eldest is baptised and we celebrated that with our family. My daughter is due to be baptised next month and we have invited all of our family and are having a celebration afterwards.
