A Very Creepy, Haunting Dream

So, last night I had one of the creepiest dreams I've had in a long time. And I have no idea why I would have a dream like this. I know some people really believe that every dream means something, but oh my gosh I hope they're wrong! In my dream, I was home with my parents, my younger sister, and my 3 year old nephew. My dad left the house, I told him bye, and I only found out from my sister that he was going to Ireland! I thought it was weird I hadn't known beforehand that my dad was going to another country for a while! But oddly enough I didn't seem to upset about that. So then my mom leaves the house, just to go shopping or something. So now it's just me, my sister, and my nephew. I decide I'm going to go out and get us all a treat (it's night time). I get to my car and pull out of the driveway, and all the way down on the other end of my street I see two police cars parked with their lights on, but no sirens. When I get closer to them (and I get to my turn) they just turn their lights of. I think about it being odd, but I finish my turn and then continue to drive. All of a sudden it is raining really hard, and up ahead I see 3 or 4 more police cars, and there is an officer outside his car raises his hand to stop me. I come to an abrupt stop and roll down my window. The cop tells me, "they are bringing tanks in." And all i could say was, "what?" I was baffled! The cop told me they are bringing tanks into my community because of the paratroopers. I look up at the sky beside my gated community and see men with parachutes falling from the sky. At this point in my dream I feel totally threatened and scared. I go right home and go into my house to protect my sister and my nephew. I make them go upstairs into mine and my sisters room (they are connected with a bathroom) and I keep watch out our windows. Then I see a man walk into our driveway gates, and to the side of my house, towards our side door. the man was covered from head to toe in a white sheet. I felt petrified! But my only concern was getting back to my sister and nephew (and I also remember worrying about whether my mom was safe somewhere). The dream ended with me telling my sister that there is a man by the house in a white sheet, and I may have said he had a gun, not sure about that. And I think it's important to mention that EVERY ASPECT of my dream was very accurate to real life. My house, it's layout, my street layout...even the detail of the gates and poles at the end of my street. And the entire mood of the dream was just panic. What could a dream like this possibly mean!?!?!?

Lol I am always watching horror movies and reading scary books. But I try to stay away from anything dealing with war, it's just not something I like to see. They're always to graphic (realistic graphic!) for me. Lol! My parents actually did go to Ireland not so long ago, so that's probably why he was going there in my dream, of all places! And by the way! I am just starting Skeleton Crew tonight! Will probably get a few pages in before I go to bed...it's after 11pm! Esk!

What a dream. I think it shows how protective you are over other people. I think dreams are from something people think, something they have watched or read or maybe a mix of all three. Dreams could be a symbol to a thought or a fear. Fear about someone harming your family or a fear of war? Or just a dream of wanting to protect and comfort someone from something. I am not an expert in meanings of dreams. Have had bizarre and strange dreams myself, some of which I do not know what they could mean.

Yep I know what you mean, what happens in real life is far more graphic and far worse than what we read or see in fiction There could be worse places to be than Ireland, what part did they visit ? Have a good read of Skeleton Crew, I think the first story is The Mist which is the longest if I remember. There is a good mix of stories in there, I hope you will like it. Hi shiningstar1, I think you have a better grasp of dreams than I do

I don't think that you need to worry about invaders of the military type, but I do think you may be feeling overwhelmed by things in your current life. I don't know if the jobs, going to school and whatever else you have going on is just getting too much, but I suspect that you feel like you have troubles coming from all sides and you can't see exactly the one that is the biggest or which one you could/should eliminate because they all seem so important. Maybe listing what you do during a day/week and then marking what's most important like 1)going to school, 2) crossing guard job - those kinds of things (I don't know what order you will put them in, just making a suggestion here) It may be that you need to talk to your parents about a few less responsibilities around the house while you are in classes, but to pick them up when you are on break/between classes? I suspect that feeling responsible around the house is part of why your dream self had them out of the house.

I do have a lot of stresses when it comes to school (of course, it's college! I think stress is a synonym for college lol). But that definitely isn't all of it. My crossing walk job itself isn't really stressful (I get to read most of the time, in my car with music lol). And my parents do not make me do a lot of constant work, just helping with a couple of things every day. But I also have a lot of stress when it comes to other family issues, like my sister's pregnancy that we are all hoping works out this time (she's had a lot of miscarriages and failed attempts in the past) and helping out there. That gives me a lot of stress!!!! Actually, I am thrilled to pieces that in a few months I will be driving to UT, staying there for a month **BY MYSELF**, volunteering with a bunch of animals...and hopefully just getting rid of some of that stress! Thank you!

yeah - college is just another way to spell "stress" and that's probably where most of the stuff comes from, I'm just saying that some prioritizing might help some.

Hi. LilyoftheThorns. This is scary here. You never saw your mom after she left. And your dad went to a country that you had no idea about which was, Ireland. The man at your door with a white sheet on. And the men falling from parachutes out of the sky... All of this sounds like an invasion to me. It reminds me of something scientific that is going to happen. This was very scary to dream about. All that I can tell you is to do everything that you can to protect your sister and nephew. I hope that you will be safe after having this dream. Take care.

That is a very creepy dream. Did you go see Tomorrow When The War Began at the cinemas or something? Maybe you're just worried that something will happen to your sister or nephew. Or perhaps you're worried about your parents, that's why your subconscious sent them away from the danger. Maybe you're having a biological yearning to have a child of your own to protect lol. You're brain might be thinking any one of these things when you're not there to monitor it. I don't think it was a premonition of any sort so try not to stress about it.

No, didn't watch any kind of war movies hehe. I can pretty much guarantee right now I'm not yearning for a child of my own to protect I am extremely happy with my nieces and nephew! I guess subconsciously I do worry about my family just because the world is such a dangerous place...but it's not something I dwell on, I don't want to go crazy! lol Another thing that kind of worries me in the dream is how unhelpful/unprotective the police were...theirs is a profession I admire, and I never put them in a negative light. So to have them almost emotionless in my dream was weird for me. Thanks!

Lol yeah I have a lot of crazy dreams too, all the time. But I think this one disturbed me more than others because of how realistic and...'weird normal' it was lol.

I think it sounds like a possible reality and scary..I heard that if things get real bad we can come under marshal law, and that would be a nightmare.. I can only hope I can keep it together if it comes to that..
