Why are you on myLot?

Are you a myLot member because you just wanted a place to talk to other people, to discuss vast and varying topics and have your voice heard?
Or are you on myLot to make some extra money? And if so, do you think the amounts you make match the amount of time and effort you put in?
I just want to hear from some other myLotters, what brought them to the community.

Well from someone who has been an active member here now for almost 4 1/2 yrs. and quite active a lot of the time, I would have to say the reason I am here, and continue to be here is the wonderful people I have met here over time, and getting the chance to share and talk with them about things going on in their little world as well. I might have come here at first in hopes of earning some extra $$ just like the rest of us, but continue to stay here to make new friends and learn about others for sure.

And I think that's what it's all about. No one would ever get to a high score like yours if they were in it for the money, they would realise this isn't a get rich quick scheme and never come back. It's great that such a wide mix of nationalities and races and personalities can come together in one spot without the conflict that a lot of other social networking sites have. Hope you'll keep being my friend :)

That's a great reason to be here Shibham and with a score of 3256 you have been doing a lot of sharing in the last couple of years. Glad you're creating some international friendships and expressing yourself. Thanks for responding again.

Initially I though myLot was an article writing site so after signing up I did not do any participation because I was not interested.
As you can see I enjoy it very much because my participation points are for 7 months of membership. I have come to appreciate more and more all the cultures and traditions. Learning some new everyday has become a wonder adventure.

I will let you in on my secret. It is because behind each and every avatar/photo I know there is a real person. So when I address a discussion I want to make sure I do it with sincerity.

I have to say hardworkinggurl, I only joined a week ago, and your name popped up so often in discussions I just had to admire you. I've noticed you are one of the top contributers around and I always like your responses. You put a lot of thought into what you write and it shows.

I think a lot of people are on here because it truly is a learning experience. Some people are on here to learn how to better their English, some people are on here because they genuinely need help with certain problems. It's a great way to get help and to learn new things because you get so many different opinions from the different people.

Hi annapplez,
before my lot i was on Yahoo answers and would answer a lot there . I loved being on discussion sites like these. There a member who i got little pally with introduced me this site. he told me why do it for free when you can get paid for it and i liked the idea and at that time i need some american money so i came here and i think that this site is definitely better than yahoo answers.

Same! I'm a Yahoo Answers Australia member and I used to love trying to help the people with questions with some of my knowledge. I think it's great that we're doing the same thing, but getting paid for it. I still pop onto Yahoo Answers though, because I still like to try and help.

When I first joined mylot, it was for the earnings, but as time has gone on, I have come to realize that it is much more than that. I come in here to learn from others, which I have been doing. I have also made lots of friends which is a good thing too, and of course getting a little extra money id wonderful too. I must say though that I haven't earned a lot here, but it has added up in the end, and that is all that matters. I have never once regretted my decision to join mylot. As time goes on, you will come to realize that mylot is a good community to learn from others. Take care, and happy mylotting.

It is a great community from what I have seen so far. And you obviously enjoy participating to have such a high score. I wish I had more time to dedicate to myLot because I really enjoy reading everyone's discussions and getting involved.

I joined first because of the earnings. I was new to earning online that I was willing to try anything. I have discontinued most of the sites I joined but kept logging in here because of the conversations.
I have made some good friends here and it is nice to see what's going on with their lives.

I think that's great. I only just signed up and I did it because I wanted to make some money, but I've found I'm enjoying participating in the discussions more than watching my earnings go up. Some people just have some great things to say.

I admit when I joined mylot last year basically my purpose is to make some extra money, but later on I realized that it's not all about the money anymore. I started to enjoy reading and responding to discussions posted and posting discussions as well. Mylot has become one of my outlets, in expressing my emotions, how I feel what I've been going through. I have gained new friends in this community, even if I don't really meet them in person, just by reading their posted discussion, somehow I feel like I know them. For me myLot is created for us to be able to meet new friends, may also serve as one of the tools for learning especially about current events. Earning extra money is actually just a bonus.

I think that seems to be the consensus amongst most myLotters, that we do it for the friendship and the voice that myLot gives us rather than the money. But it is nice to see the bank balance go up as well.

Hi Annapplez, My friend invited me here, It's not for the money because I haven't made much here. I enjoy answering everyone's questions. It's something I'm good at. I like some of the topics on here. Some I can relate to. A .01 for ever topic is not much if there's a better way to make money on here that would be great. Good luck.

I don't think anyone will ever make it rich from myLot unless they spend every waking minute on here and it seems that most myLotters don't really care about the money anyway. I have just gone and read a few of your recent responses and you are quite good at it. You are another myLotter who takes the time to put thought into what they write and actually tries to solve the question.

It is definitely one of the better social sites, you can make friends with people across the world based on whether or not you share the same interests and ideas. And it is wonderful to share your thoughts with other people and have them actually heard. I'm glad you're enjoying it so much because I am loving it too.

I did take the dessision to participate here in Mylot for two reasons:
-earnings
-masterize my english
And after I started i realize how many good people it have!
There is such a fun to see how think the other people from all the world!
There is so much things that everyone can learn from here!
I think that most of us have begun to participate for the money and after a few days we do not even think about the money!
The mane idea of Mylot is a genius!

I have to say Pinoer, your English is pretty good. There are a lot of people on here whose comments and discussions I have trouble understanding. But then again they do say that English and Portuguese Spanish are the hardest languages in the world to learn. I'm sure your English will get better and better the more you participate, and the more you participate the more you will earn. I hope you're having as much fun as me.
