Whats the negative effect of radiation?

I don't know much of this physical problem. Well I just know the unclear power station use a chemical element called Uranium which is very unstable. This element will decay and generate strong radiation which could kill cells of creature. Another element with radiation is Radium founded by famous physicist Madame Curie and she passed away because of too much radiation.

hi, actually i dont have a broaden idea with the effect of radiation in our health,but still its a dangerous to our health.
