Having one of those days!

Have you ever had one of those days when something happens to make you laugh? You know, the kind of laugh that would otherwise be a cry! Last night, having come in from work where the children I work with had made me laugh with their usual antics, I decided to have a beer. Having opened the can and poured it into the glass without too much fuss, I opened the bin to place the empty can in. So far so good. On looking in I discovered that the bin was full so I lifted the bag only for it to get caught on the handle of the bin. (We have one of these pedal bins with the inside bit.) The bag ripped, so I dropped it back in and tried to find another bit to grab. I got it up so far but it ripped again. After another two efforts and a now very torn bag, I eventually got the bag out. But packets and cans and sweetcorn were balanced precariously at the top and I was using all of my will power to keep all of this from spilling over. As I lifted the bag carefully, it ripped again, this time all over the kitchen floor! Sweetcorn, pot noodle tubs and things I don't even want to think about spewed onto the floor as in desperation I tried to salvage as much of the bag as possible. The bag was now beyond redemption though and I had to simply accept the inevitable carnage it was going to cause. With a sigh I reached for the brush and shovel, knelt down, and accepted my punishment for buying cheap bags. After a few rude words and a feeling sorry for myself, I chuckled because I had to or I would have cried. And I thought two things. Isn't life wonderful? And never, ever, again buy cheap bags!

Well, first of all, I am happy to hear that I am not the only one that happens to! ha!! I have to say that I do laugh too. It's either that a cuss a blue streak. I always feel better when I laugh something off instead of letting it ruin my day. Things just seeom to go better from then on out.

Laughter can be the best medicine especially at the right time. I too sometimes am in sorrow and something funny pops in my head that has happened long ago and it will make me laugh then suddenly tears can flow.
It won't end all sorrows but will release some good positive energy.

That was clever of you to just laugh the incident off. Maybe if i were on your place, i would get very pissed and not a chance to laugh at it.
I must say, i congratulate you for turning the incident into a laughing matter. That way, it has reverted an irritating incident into something very funny making it lighter for you to tackle.
