Finally!!! I got the call about an hour ago. I was assigned to the group getting all three drugs. I need to get there at 8:30 that morning for labs then I see the doctor at 9:30. I just hope that I can get there easily that morning. I would try to get medical non-emergency transportation, but someone had told me that they need a week notice. I should probably contact the company anyway to see if I can get it scheduled.

Good luck!
You should ask your physician about taking the herb "Cat's Claw". It is an herb that comes from the rain forest which has many immune boosting properties, and can combat and speed up recover from many illnesses.
I am taking it to combat Lyme disease at the moment, as well as to flush out my system from other harmful toxins. It tastes terrible as a tea; but, it is really working for me(my neurological impairments are started to clear up- a sign the Lyme bacteria is losing :D).

I did a lot of research online. You definitely should ask your doctor about it before taking it(to see if it is compatible with the other things you are taking)(it is so potent that it is known to cause abortions).
Not only in tea form- but, it tastes nothing like any black, green, or white tea tastes like very salty wood to me :S- You can get capsules of it, I think...
Yep, the real teas really are better. I only drink the "good" stuff that I order online- mostly green and white teas, as well as herbal teas.
Green and white tea is also supposed to help with illnesses, and it would probably be more compatible with other things, and also, the taste of higher quality green tea is awesome :D
I drink at least 5 cups a day: dragonwell and hojicha are my favorite ones at the moment .
Have you been on theteaspot.com ? It is where I get my tea from, cheapest prices I could find, plus, they send you a free random sample with every order..

Hi wiggles, Thanks for the information. I have never bought tea online. The only time I ever bought tea I was in China and bought from a tea shop after sitting there and talking to a guy for an hour or more drinking different teas. I actually found one that was tolerable for me and I drank it often after I got home from that excursion. I haven't had any kind of tea since I got back to the states though. Have a great day!

Finally you have something concrete. You might be able to get the medical non emergency, it is almost a week. Is there any other kind of a transportation service besides that? We have some shuttles in town here that work places like the Senior Center, but because they get DOT funds they also have to be available for general public transportation. They only need 24 hour notice.

Call city services, I'm sure they'd have some information regarding transportation.
I don't know where you are, but we have a special bus for disabled persons, and they book within 24 hours. However, you need to be accurate especially with your pickup time, otherwise they will not wait for you.
Good luck with your treatment, I've never been through that, but did have a cancer scare a few years ago myself.

I was looking at the city website yesterday and it sounds like some kind of application is necessary before they will even consider transporting you and that you have to be unable to use normal bus services. I will probably look into that when I go into town on Monday. I remember last time I was in chemo that I used one of those services and there were times that they could only take me one way. One time I was scheduled to go in late and they had to speed up the delivery of chemo so that I wouldn't miss my ride.

I tried to do a search for non emergency medical transportation and didn't find anything. I don't know if I am searching with the wrong description or what. I don't mind paying for the service, but when I was in Arizona, I was able to get services paid for with my medical card. Now that I have one, I would like to be able to use it. Thanks for the response!

I just happened to come across this one and was wondering how your treatments were going. I pray they are going as well as chemo can be, or that you may have been able to stop getting them by now. Prayers are with you my friend.

Thanks. Where do you practice medicine? I saw in your profile you were from China. I just wish I could have been at the hospital where you were at when I first found out I had a problem. It was very frustrating to be in a small town and to find out that there were few people who spoke English at that hospital and they were very hard to understand. And they had the nerve to tell my boss they didn't want him translating because he was not family!

I'm really not too worried about getting sick. The doctor said it should be just like last time but we will see. Thanks for the response!

That is one thing about recurrent cancer. If you aren't strong, you don't survive to get to that point! Thanks for the response!

I'm so glad to hear that. Yes, as soon as you can get in touch with the transport company to see about subsequent times you'll feel much better. I see the transport vehicle around my apartment complex (I live in a Section 8 apartment complex where about half of us are on disability or are elderly and on Medicare) all the time. It's good to know it is available.

I tried to find contact information for the transport vehicle, but I couldn't find anything that didn't require cash payment. I thought in NC when I used them before that my insurance took care of everything. I have it worked out that I will drive into town in the van I'm supposed to get tomorrow (if the mechanic finished with it) and pick up my brother so he has a vehicle and then he will drop me off and do his running around. I'm sure it will all work out and if I'm not too rundown afterwards, then I won't worry about transportation.

GL in getting your transportation set up. I hope this process goes fast for you. My Il's had gone thru it in "09 both at the same time one had throat and the other was uterine.

Since I should have the van tomorrow, I would at least be able to get into town and I can always pick my brother up before I go so that he can drive me home in case I am to tired or something. That's too bad about your Il's having to both go through it together. My first round I had both ovarian and uterine cancers but they mostly emphasize the ovarian. the cells present now are the same ones that were present then apparently. Thanks for the response!

It would be a lot easier to contact them if I knew how to. I tried to search for it but didn't get anything I could use paying for it with medicaid. If I'm going to have to pay cash, I think I would rather risk driving myself. My doctor seemed to think it might not be a problem, but the last time (back in 2003) they wouldn't allow me to drive myself to/from treatments. I live alone in a motel. I talked to my brother and he says that if I pick him up in the morning so he can get his running around done, he can take care of getting me home afterwards so that should work out ok. Thanks for the response!

Finally friend and I am so happy the day is almost here, you do what you have to, to get them to take care of transportation, so it does not get delayed again. HOORAY!

My brother tells me the van should be ready tomorrow (I'll believe it when I see it) and then I could pick him up in the morning and he could drive around while I'm getting treated since he has an appointment somewhere himself that day and then get me home without having to use his wife's car. Hopefully that works out for me. Thanks for the response!

I had the same kind of chemo back in 2003 and it worked well then. Unfortunately, there was one microscopic cell that apparently escaped back then and it has produced disease in the colon and on the liver and diaphragm. I guess that is pretty common in ovarian cancer recurrences because the ovaries are usually gone. Thanks for the response!
