Is it my kids or is this common in today's generation . . .

not liking peanut butter and jelly sandwiches???? Neither one of my girls will eat one! I still eat one occasionally and they bring back such good memories. Both my girls have tried them, but don't like them. They prefer peanut butter and honey sandwiches or just plain peanut butter sandwiches! Are your kids picky about them or are mine just weird? LOL

I've never liked peanut butter ever and but I don't think it's anything to do with this generation I just think that it's your kids you've noticed don't such a thing as you've enjoyed it so much in your childhood and there's certainly a number of people who don't like it more than likely equal to those who do . So I really don''t think it's down to your kids being picky at all. Also just checking jelly in America is jam or am I wrong? If so I love jelly(jam) and would much prefer to have just a jam sandwich or jam on toast or something .

Hello steve. No jam and jelly are different. Jelly is made from clear fruit juice and jam has the fruit pulp still in it.

Thanks for letting me know that I guess that's just a misconception in the UK then

My oldest daughter can be a bit on the picky side. She only likes certian jelly at certian times. Although all my kids dont mind eating it it's not their first choice. Their first choice would be peanut butter and fluff. I cant really complain because I never have never will like peanut butter and jelly either. I'd always eat jelly and cream chesse. I had weird taste.

I have some strange grandchildren too. one granddaughter doesn't like ice cream. can you imagine not liking ice cream? Anther one doesn't like hot dog and I thought all kids liked ice cream and hot dogs. They all like peanut butter. When I was a kid I din't like it because it stuck to the roof of my mouth. I hated that. When my mom mixed syrup or honey in it then it didn't stick to the roof of my mouth and then it wasn't so bad. Now days it's not so bad at sticking to the roof of my mouth so I'm eating it on celery but don't like it on bread with jam or jelly.

I think so much has changed in food over the past 2 decades, that PBJ is junk food to a kid. Natural, health, "good for you", "bad for you"...all these things constant before kids that they don't know what good or bad! A PBJ is healthy!

Oh gosh I was not aware that some children do not like peanut butter. Mine absolutely love it. I as an adult still love it. I could not keep a full can readily available so I had to purchase several at a time. It appears to be a preference and maybe later they will prefer it and maybe they will not, this does not make them weird. lol..
