even the world's richest nations are not exempted to what nature can do. it only shows that life does not depend on success or wealth.

They are not exempt, but they are still not hit quite as hard. The richer nations have things in place to try and limit the damage and although they aren't foolproof they definitely do minimise the loss. It's horrible that these sort of things happen anywhere in the world.

True enough, but at least they have more chances of recuperating quicker that the poor countries. Though of course, we can't help but think that in the eyes of God and nature, nobody is better or greater.
